She was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA Hons) degree in Music Education and a Master of Arts (MA) degree with Distinction in Ethnomusicology from Middlesex University, London and Diplomas of Associateship and Licentiateship from Trinity College London and Victoria College of Music, London. Her qualifications include also degrees in guitar performance, harmony, counterpoint, fugue and band arranging and a post-degree diploma in composition. She is alto saxophone player in the Band of the Municipal Conservatoire of Neapolis. She also holds the position of professor of guitar at the Municipal Conservatory of Neapolis.
