Spatial Textures is a purely electronic composition exploring the interaction between sound, space and auditory perceptions of frequency and modulation.
Using Frequency modulation and subtractive synthesis techniques, the binaural experience of the listeners' shifts their structural placement in the environment, ideally placing them into a three-dimensional environment where sound and texture become a living, transformative entity that can create emotional engagement through auditory observation and manipulation of our inner ear sensory perception. 
Created for a large performance space, with speakers placed above, below and all around the listener, the refined sense of movement in comparison to the static observer, may in moments bring a sense of out-of-body experiences in a space where the laws of gravitational conceptions give way to a new floatation existence. Thus the human would feel the gradual entrance into the dimensions of electro-existence: the sound perceived inside a cable, the sound within computed systems, the sound of a motherboard. We then can experience unknown sounds into a new existential narrative: that of our gradual digital transformation.

Concerto for Piano and Symphony Orchestra

Echtes Leder (Genuine Leather) explores creation after deterioration and death's role in sustaining humanity. 

Written for a short film project, directed by Adam Csoka Keller, the score uses extended techniques for a small ensemble of strings and Tuba. The aesthetic deconstruction through sound complements the imagery narrative. 

The composition process based on transformation through a chromatic alphabet of the phrase 'Death awakens,' integrating ideas of verbal and musical changes that narrate in the absence of dialogue.

Echtes Leder

The title of the piece is a combination of the Greek words Parenthesis (something in brackets) and ekthesis (exposition or exposure). 
Parekthesis, is a short descriptive piece written as an encore for Trio Conova, performed in various concert venues and festivals.

In the drag bar and the opera house, cries of 'DIVA' ring out for performers who tear us, screaming outside the bonds of mere reality. In this surreal queer fantasia on classical music, Baroque iconography, and scandalous first-century verse, drag prima donna Divina de Campo premieres an original operatic aria with a chamber orchestra by composer V.R. Alevizos, enacting a space where the drag diva and the opera diva share the same skin.

DIVA

"Moon" is an electroacoustic composition that combines live manipulation of voice, piano and violin that moves through a self-generative patch in Max/Msp, the sound of which is further manipulated in Ableton Live.

Narrated by vocal artist Myrto Stylou, her text for the Moon was created and manipulated live on a Full Moon ritual during the first lockdown of the Covid-19 pandemic in Athens, Greece.
Our evening meditation's energetic field and ‘The Moon’ Tarot card brought transparency and the inspiration for a performance piece that combines organic elements with ideas of space weightlessness, integrating our feelings of discomfort and uncertainty in combination with the shift of our whole everyday life into the internet and the digital screen.

Finding our gradual healing process through our live performance, the technology of Max/Msp yielded ways to create a sound using filtered impulses and modulating delays that could then generate healing feedback overtones based on Pythagorean frequencies and tuning.
A midi keyboard could randomise partial numbers which multiplied these overtones, thus changing frequency rates. Connecting the patch into Ableton Live, incoming signal recordings were added to the Sampler, which allowed different recordings to generate a self-evolving synth. All these various midi sources could provide further melodic modulation and extreme levels of feedback effects. 

The Moon has a light and a dark side and floats into the endless matter of our solar system. 
Connecting with our inner consciousness, we align with our everyday reality but never give up on the search for universal awareness and origin.

MOON

V.R. Alevizos is a pianist and composer that explores different mediums of art, therefore connecting his performance with a reflection on society through the high level of musical activity.
Currently based in London, he distinctively graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, with an MA in Piano Performance and an Artist Diploma in Piano and Composition, and he is currently a scholar at the Royal College of Music studying Composition for Screen. He received scholarships and awards for his exceptional virtuosity and substantial nominations for his music at several International Film Festivals in Milan, Los Angeles, Shanghai, Barcelona, and London, etc. He is a BFI delegate and he recently won the award for ‘Best Composer’ at the Oslo Film Festival. He has further collaborated with BBC3, Channel 4, SHOWstudio and the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London. Amongst other multimedia collaborations, he has worked closely with world-renowned composers such as Philip Glass and John Adams. A native of Athens, he graduated from the Athens Conservatory but also received his Bachelor's degree in Visual Communication and Mass Media. He has been invited to give lectures and seminars on society, communication and philosophy of arts at the University of Athens, the Athens Conservatory and King’s College in London where he is a current piano teacher.
