When We Dip's Tales of Romance imprint is proud to present its first EP of the year, ‘Meet my Tempo' by Zoi. The outing is centred around groove and harmonic touch. Manu, Gullen and Madmotormiquel each give their take of the A-side.

Zoi, who has released with Kindisch, Traum and Dirtybird, originally hail from Pakistan and is an integral part of Toronto's scene as a programmer of club Subdivision.

The A-side, ‘Meet my Tempo' is a vibey affair marked by old-school house drums, an uplifting pad and diverse ear candies.

Inner Solstice showcases the same atmospheric feel, as the ever-evolving percussions and hats link the raw sub-bass, joyful pad and sparse lead melody.

Montréal's Manu delivers a throbbing remix which draws inspiration from his regular appearances in the city's institutions such as Stéréobar and Le Salon Daomé. The glitchy break gives a breather before leaving the colourful sub lead the ‘I just want to groove' ad-lib.

Gullen's remix of Meet my Tempo revolves around an inspiring rolling bass progression, stabs and a sharp clap. A tasteful offering from the Barcelona producer fresh off his second EP with Mobilee.

Madmotormiquel's remix rounds up the pack. Bouncy percussions, short stabs and drum rolls hit against the bassline and punchy kick.

Here's a taster of the kind of stuff we played at Max Cooper's Mesh DJ Social gig at Cafe 1001 in April this year 🎧

We warmed things up with some fairly chilled vibes, dipping into a variety of electronica, breaks, techno, prog house, UKG and IDM, helping set the stage for Stylus Rex and Jinjé to take over 🔥

It was challenging keeping things both relaxed, suited to a gradually moving-in crowd, & also experimental and in-keeping with Mesh's boundary pushing, immersive ethos. We tried our best to encapsulate all of this in our set 🎧
