When I saw the stems available for Soul-net on DIIV’s site promoting the song/video, I knew had to do my own remix. I stayed true to the song structure, but definitely put my own spin on it. Basically my approach was what if Massive Attack and Morphine handled production on this tune. I basically wanted to see if I could get away with putting a sax solo and a horn section in a DIIV tune. I've always liked this song off of The Strokes' debut album, Is This It, and a few years back, I started tinkering around with a more slowed out/less raucous version of it. Took some cues from The Flaming Lips and Rickie Lee Jones, and finally came up with something that I think works.

Bombs Away

After spending my college summers working on jungle gyms for luxury men's accessories designers, I went onto more involved and detailed projects earning praise for developing frisbees in the government sector. Lastly, I spent my final year of grad school testing the market for Virgin Mary figurines in Seattle.

Fast forward through over a decade of playing drums and percussion in various NJ/NYC area bands/songwriters (The Davids, Sleep Station / New London Fire, Fortunato, Annie Quick, Sarah Lentz, Bearden Coleman & The Minor Addictions, Chuck Treece, The Midnight Hollow, and New Politicians), I'm finally releasing my own music I've worked on over the years.

My previous project was Villain + Zavier with fellow NJ based producer/songwriter, Walter Dicristina (Emvy Music), where we did a remix for Crosses (Chino Moreno of Deftones & Shaun Lopez of Far) and worked on music for NYC Pop Gothic Songstress, Car Astor. We also managed to release a single entitled, You + I. Maybe we'll revisit that project again in the future. For now it's Vatic Pillars. Stay tuned for a single that I co-wrote and am featured on by Todd Edwards.
