ABY012 | Valentin Mase - Blood Saga [Incl. Razbibriga Remix]

There is a dichotomy within the very definition of the word Vault...on the one hand, a vaulted ceiling is typical in many sacred places of worship, forming an arch that is perfect for a choir to sing their praises to a higher power. On the other hand, one must go into a deep underground chamber or vault in order to unearth rare treasures only found through deliberate exploration. 

Strathy’s new release embodies this split personality with four tracks that climb to the roof tops with euphoric synths, only to plunge down into turbulent catacombs. ‘’Space Nation’’ begins with a static radio transmission coiled around a cluster of drums ready for lift off. ‘’Duruti March’’ takes us down a granular path full of dense texture and grit and doesn't let go. ‘’Arggg’’ comes barreling through at a breakneck pace and just as you settle into the raucous, galloping groove, a radiant choir chimes in as a counterbalance to the chaos. ‘’Modern Slave’’ lets us breath and gives room for a slightly twisted vocal to meander around a broken beat including the hint of hopeful yet melancholic synths and a bag of symbols seemingly being dragged across a concrete floor. 
Strathy weaves these elements together in a multifaceted ep that is sure to challenge the body and mind and leave ecstatic dancers wanting to dig deeper into the Vault.

This comes in heavy with a pounding kick that leaves us in suspense while 'don't be afraid' lingers building into a breakbeat. It then builds up and progresses with ravey synths. This track has the main constructs of 90's euphoric banger,definitely one for the bag!

Making his debut on Soma with the Extinction EP is Berlin based Dj & producer, Non Reversible. Slowly but surely making his name within the underground ranks of Techno, Non Reversible has released storming EPs via ARTS, Animal Farm and his own eponymous label. With his debut Soma EP, Non Reversible works his way through 5 modern, industrial tracks. 

Riot opens the EP and with a title like that, you know what to expect. A furious, percussion driven track, Riot stomps it’s way forwards with efficiency, breaking only to allow for chants of rebellion to ring through. Embrace Our Culture keeps on a similarly formidable tip. Pounding drums lead the charge to a backing of tripped out atmospherics that build and lead throughout the track. Title track Extinction delivers on direct assault Techno once again - set to a backdrop of dread with screaming tones that deliver an unnerving melancholy. And Then There Was Silence closes out this debut with anything else but silence. Once again, Non Reversible brings colossal energy via intense percussion, more rigid rhythms and huge, spacial atmospherics.
