Now in its 200th instalment, this Podcast has given voice to a diverse offering of global talents across the musical spectrum, from the democratic rhythms of zeitgeist appropriate techno and house through to more avant-garde synthwork.

This next guest has cast a large shadow over the technosphere, so large in fact, that no introduction could fully encompass the breadth of his achievements. But in brief: Ben Klock is a titan whose formative years were spent playing marathon mixes to the crowds at Berlin’s (then recently opened) Berghain. Off the back of his endurance sets and the club’s success he became a household name whose influence grew to be felt across the world, with a body of work that includes appearances at an exhaustive list of clubs and festivals, a number of hot releases on Ostgut Ton and an equally respected self-run label (Klockworks) to boot. On this second imprint, his own productions have repeatedly seen the light of day, alongside those from the likes of DVS1, Sterac, Stef Mendesidis and younger talents like Temudo and Vil & Cravo. The sound, ubiquitous as it is, will be familiar to anyone involved in the world of electronic music and there’s good reason for that: Klock’s deep and percussive work and ability to pull from a wide range of influences have earmarked him as a unique agent for the techno cause. Atmospheric and delivered with hammering force, Klock’s refined palette for rhythms is as relevant now as ever. Somov Records head Ignez is up next with an unmissable techno number that’ll make you sweat. A younger self dropped the stuffy confines of his childhood on the Dutch coast and fled to Berlin as so many do, and there began to cultivate a sound that has placed him firmly among some of his talented and much talked about peers. The DJ/producer credits the seaside upbringing with instilling a deep respect for the rolling tides and endless sands, natural references that are deeply embodied in his hypnotising and immersive rhythms. His occasional return to home turf as resident of Amsterdam-based party series Eerste Communie has also played a significant role in his musical development and found him willing publishers in the likes of Token and SK_eleven, as well as a sparring partner in Berlin heavyweight Rødhåd (with whom he shares two EPs). It’s techno in purest form, bewitching loops that pulsate like those long ago shores. In that sound his ascetic beats are flanked by the most minimal detail and rely on raw percussive might to mesmerise his listener. A dancefloor portal to another world; transcendent stuff for sure. From small club settings to festivals on a larger scale Ignez brings a kind of magic that’s hard to turn a deaf ear to, Bassiani Podcast 220’s proof that he’ll pull those tricks at home too. A hour of virgin, mechanical beats that daze and enthral, a staunch reminder of techno’s visceral power and of why, for so many, it’s such a ruling passion.

A favorite of the NY underground, Federico holds a reputation both for his comprehensive knowledge of techno's most obscure corners and for his capacity to channel his sprawling collection into DJ sets of exceptional poise and vibrancy. Raised in Pennsylvania, an early fascination with software production led him from live music into an obsession with track building and the limitless possibilities of electronic music. In 2020, he launched @90stechno.redux, an online platform that catalogues some of the finest, and often nearly-unheard, examples of the genre's golden age. Drawing heavily on the Detroit-Berlin axis, Federico exemplifies the focus and discernment of a purist, engaging with techno both as a true art form and as a near-spiritual discipline.

Beste Hira is an adventurous, strong-willed and motivated DJ and Producer living in
Amsterdam, originally from Istanbul. Her character traits, combined with her creativity and
discipline, define her as a unique talent. Music has been a huge priority her whole life: she
focused her entire high school and university path on it, most specifically with the cello and
piano as her main instruments. She graduated from Ondokuz Mayıs University with a degree in
Music Education / Conservatory. During the early days of her career, she started producing and
DJing in Istanbul before she decided to move to Amsterdam in 2019 to pursue her vocation as
a techno talent.

Within electronic music, Beste Hira identifies with the hypnotic, fast paced and dark side of
techno. Her extensive musical training can be heard throughout her music production and DJ
sets, where she meticulously experiments with sounds to produce her signature, and, most
importantly, having an incredibly accurate intuition allows her to play out of her comfort zone
and surprise some of the most challenging crowds.

Beste Hira enjoys creating a full sensory experience in her performances, which results in
captivating journeys from beginning to end. Her knowledge and experience as an artist have
allowed her to grow in Amsterdam's eclectic underground scene, supported by key
Amsterdam-based crews such as Awakenings, Vault Sessions, DeSchool, Amsterdam Open Air,
909 and many more. Beste's presence in Europe is growing rapidly, especially after becoming a
regular at the mighty Berghain and other top notch clubs in capitals like Vienna, Madrid and
Paris.

Creating podcasts for communities based in Miami, Mexico, the UK, Europe and Turkey has
allowed Beste's voice to reach global audiences and has continually shaped her growth as an
artist. Cos, the first EP she released on her own, allowed her to break through the scene and
opened doors for her debut at the renowned underground Schimmer Records. She's got a lot
more coming up, including projects that integrate her classical background.
