Emerging from the US underground before relocating to Berlin, Function's work has played a crucial role in shaping the darker, more disciplined edge of contemporary club music.

As a long-time DJ at Berghain, Function has developed an approach built for extended floors and long arcs. Equally influential as a producer, his releases on Ostgut Ton and Sandwell District established a blueprint for modern techno focused on rhythm, space, and durability.

His sets are stripped back and purposeful, driven by pressure, repetition, and subtle variation rather than dramatic shifts or excess. Everything serves momentum.

Bridging emotionally charged sounds with driving loops of the highest order, Patrik Eriksson has cast a striking form in Sweden and beyond. Since his 2015 founding of Arsenik Records (alongside Kuf), the nordic phenom has expanded his catalogue and scope to include live sets as well as studio productions, both demonstrating a deep passion for music as well as a tightly focused reinterpretation of what came before. As Dold, he pulls from IDM, ambient, electro and techno and reformulates a percussive hallmark brimming with mechanical intensity, one that swells with ideas and a technical skill that raises the bar record on record; his latest for instance is a heavy-duty banger titled Feng Shui, a VA contribution worthy of his name. From Europe to farther afield his sets too, negotiate the twin demands of mind and body, offering a highly intelligent and highly danceable techno forever at the vanguard. These twilight periods can be among the most rewarding times to play - where vivid, almost cinematic memories are shaped for life. Needless to say, this was one of those special times for me.”
