2020's racial reckoning has deeply touched us as a band. We felt compelled to address the situation in the only way we know how - musically. "Enough" was written in a single evening and touches on motifs of being done living in others' shadows. As a protest song, we decided to leave the production raw, and have contrasting simple/diffuse choral vocals against dry, in-your-face lead vocals - the choir representing the protesting masses, and the lead the personal story of a Black man in the USA.

Ghost Of You

VAYD is an alternative rnb trio composed of producers David Young + Devin Askounis, with vocalist Vernell Anthony Davis. Their sound is defined by Davis’ pop/r&b vocal stylings, riding atop swirling synths and electro beats. Much of their work focuses on the hybridization of the human and the synthetic, an aesthetic which the band strives to bring forth both musically and visually.
