~ About The Story ~

Orakei Korako “Place of Adorning” on the banks of the Waikato River, the ukaipo (birthplace) and principal papakainga of Ngati Tahu-Ngati Whaoa. Tahu Matua travelled the lands in the rohe; it is here he placed himself. The area was abundant in kai sources, geothermal resources and in an ideal location situated on the banks of the Waikato River.

Orakei Korako has been an important settlement site of Ngati Tahu for many generations. The settlement of Orakei Korako consisted of a fortified pa on the left bank above the river and a living area on the flats beside the river amidst the geysers and hot pools.

Ngati Tahu-Ngati Whaoa has a historical, cultural and contemporary association with geothermal resources within our traditional rohe. Such resources were used for cooking, drinking, bathing and healing. Large kainga and cultivations were often established around these taonga such as at Orakei Korako, Ohaaki and Waiotapu.

The geothermal landscape has changed over time, but the geysers, hot springs, bubbling mud pools and silica terraces remain within the geothermal park. Our taonga have cultural significance to our iwi, and under our care we ensure to remain kaitiaki of our whenua, natural resources and taonga. As kaitiaki ensuring to protect and restore this area is important to Ngati Tahu-Ngati Whaoa.

A raver since his teenage years in Australia, Hysteria (@imhysteria) began experimenting with turntables and (later) software and hardware only around five years ago, quickly finding himself thriving off the unique possibilities DJing offered to move people physically, emotionally, and intellectually. 

As one of the co-creators and resident DJs of Patterns of Perception, Hysteria has crafted a niche for himself as a selector of genre-bending techno, coupled with a unique, ever-changing collage of sounds drawn from across the electronic music spectrum.

Patterns of Perception 58 is exactly that, an excursion through an interstellar rave, from one dimension to the next. Stripped back techno, broken rhythms, and electro grooves.

This recording was made on the first day of explosive news and lock-down in the Spanish pandemic. The day before I moved to a lonely and really old house on the mountains, and despite the deep social and geographic isolation here, the news and the intimidating atmosphere was arriving from everywhere in all the forms and channels, so dystopian, so scary, so unreal. Alone by decision and with a new kindof  heartbeat that i've never experienced before sat down to put some music together for my new friends and experimented ears of the Godmother Radio. Hope it can fill some space of your time at home, crossing the imaginary fields i mixed with tracks by Pepo Galan & David Cordero, Warmth, Docetism, Tarek Soltani, Global Communication, Adhémar, Silentwave, Deru, ataxy, Stigr Asc & Sam KDC and ending on Suicide's track "I remember" that was sounding quite often before all this new world order started. Stay safe, stay creative and stay positive.

We couldn’t have had a better guest for our little 10th anniversary. Dash is a Prague- based dj and one of the most crucial deep techno connoisseurs of Prague scene. Combining organic and hypnotic yet groovy sounds, she manages to create an absolutely unique and mesmerizing soundscapes in her sets or on the dance floors. Also, Dasha is one of co-curators of DUNA series of podcasts and events which brought to Prague the likes of Evigt Mörker, Ness, Antonio Vazquez and more.
