Following the opening mix from Kirill Kirik (who recently kicked off our Ukraine Mix Series in some fashion), the latest instalment in the series comes from Ilya Chuprynin aka Cheise. Known for his groove-focused approach to minimal techno in its many forms, Cheise is a native of Kiev and a regular at Ukrainian clubs He’s also equally well-known for his work at the AIMED label, an imprint that’s quickly earned a cult following among fans of discerning house and techno. We’re really honoured to be hosting his mix and are delighted to report that it’s a real feast on the senses. Featuring multiple twists and turns and a bunch of obscure cuts from the ‘90s and early ‘00s.

Blessed with a level of technical skills up there with the best of them, Cap is easily one of our favorites. Those that have witnessed his Sunwaves performances, year in and year out, know exactly what we are on about.

The demure appearance of Romanian artist Praslea belies his deep involvement in the music industry. With his name appearing on top events, especially in his home town of Bucharest, circa 2007, Florin Cunțan is a certified don of our scene. Having been inducted into the [a:pia:r] clique from an early age his “Jurnal De Bord” EP way back in 2009 he has hardly been prolific, but this is not where his real talent lies. With his solo credentials above reproach, it is par for the course for Praslea and his peers to perform together even at the biggest of events. So, it is hardly surprising that two artists from this family should join forces on the regular and that partnership is Praslesh. Not wishing to over comment on this duo, this does, however, go some way to explain the level of skill that Florin commands. Guesthouse is turning 8 years old, so we thought that as a thank you for all your support we would offer this as a little present in preparation for this weekend’s party and in turn for leaving you with the start of a musical legacy we intend to create through this podcast series.

It is such a great pleasure to present you with the first Guesthouse Podcast along with other aspects which we will be bringing out this week such as our brand new website and blog.

To start things off, we have who is, one of the most understated and respected artists in our scene, Rhadoo, to provide us with a recording of his fabric set when the club turned 19 years old last October. A lot could be written and said about this artist who is so outstanding, unique and historically relevant to minimalism, however, in order to be in line with his identity and his understatement we will let the music speak for itself. 

We would like to thank fabric for granting us this recording and wish them a great night this Saturday as they have their annual RPR Soundsystem gathering. 

Back here in Bucharest, we will be celebrating with a stellar line up including Charlie, Christopher Ledger, Inner, Junki Inoue, Kozo, Praslea and Vera.
