French-Canadian @mariedavidson_official never sits still for long. She is a Montreal native who has also lived in Berlin, and is one of the scene's most revered live acts but also transitioned into DJing with spectacular results. She makes it all from minimal wave to techno to electroclash whether working solo, as part of the Essaie pas duo, or alongside L'Œil Nu on Ninja Tune. Her own vocals often feature heavily in her work and as well as direct club material she has excelled in the long-player format with several standouts over the last decade. 

All of that creative genre abandonment is embodied in this week's mix, which is as punchy as they come. Lashings of squealing synths and hyper-speed electro-tech kick things off with real intent and the intensity never drops: there are dark punk bangers and synth-heavy kraut cuts next to pummelling deep techno punishers, more lithe disco and wave sounds and lashings of trance euphoria. What a ride.

LISAS is a DJ emerging from the New York techno scene whose expertise spans a multitude of roles. From working behind the scenes doing live sound for raves and festivals, as a sound engineer in recording studios alongside artists such as David Byrne, Floating Points, Oneohtrix Point Never, and Chris Gormack, performing in the band The Rapture, to producing music for the Ayama NYFW SS24 fashion show; all while repairing vintage analog synthesizers and outboard gear- her journey is diverse and captivating.

Her transition to DJing - an evolution grounded in her extensive knowledge of sound, illuminates her live sets and mixes with sharp selections that provide a genre-defying ride tailored to the energy of her audience. Her unique style which she refers to as “post-apocalyptic arpeggiators meet mermaid synthesis” is a blend of techno, electro, IDM, trance among other electronic genres, that create a unique groove that has earned her a coveted spot as resident of Le Bain in New York City along with gigs across top clubs and notorious underground parties in the United States and Spain.
