I heard Blonde from one of the recommended songs I got, after playing Vanilla (also by Avery) in the fall of 2024 and I absolutely loved it. My friends and I saw that Avery was performing in NYC later in December, so we all went to her concert on a Thursday evening after work at the Mercury Lounge! Set list was amazing, Blonde was played (which made my night) and so many other bangers as well. I went back home to Canada for the holidays the week after, and started playing around with the vocals for this song in Ableton Live, chopping it up for a bigger chorus drop, while also adding in the full set of percussion instrumental and writing in a fresh bass line with some synthesizers. After 3-4 long months of small but consistent edits, here we are with the remix of this track done! Hope y'all get a kick and a bump of energy out of this housey dance remix! Avery killed it at Stagecoach this year, maybe this gets played at a Stagecoach DJ set next year? Stay tuned

Lit up a brand new remix — this time it’s Morgan Wallen’s “20 Cigarettes” turned into a Tropical House slow-burn. The original is gritty, introspective, and heavy — so I took that emotion and wrapped it in a late-night, smooth coastal vibe. The groove is mellow but deep, perfect for those moments when you’re lost in thought and the smoke hangs heavy in the air, just like the memories.

This one’s a vibe for when the sun’s gone down but the fire’s still burning. Part of my ongoing project reworking “I’m the Problem” into a full tropical journey — this remix keeps it raw, but gives it room to breathe. Appreciate everyone riding this wave with me. Joshua Duerksen, renowned by his DJ name DJ JD, was raised in the Mid-West and California, where his musical tastes were shaped by a diverse range of genres, spanning from Classic Rock and Country to Hip Hop and 90's Dance. He firmly believes that "Good music knows no genre."

Following his graduation from high school, JD enlisted in the United States Navy, dedicating a decade of service to his country. While stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, he had the privilege of meeting several influential DJs who became his mentors, imparting invaluable knowledge about the various aspects of DJing.

In between deployments, JD diligently honed his mixing and performance skills, gaining experience as a Club DJ, Mobile DJ, and Dive Bar DJ. After completing his naval service, he relocated to Idaho and founded a mobile disc jockey entertainment company, specializing in providing exceptional DJ services for weddings, birthday parties, and school dances.

In 2009, JD embarked on a new venture, joining XMiX DJ Music Pool as a video editor. In this role, he skillfully re-edited music videos to match the remixes produced by the talented editors and producers at XMiX, catering to the needs of Video DJs and facilitating seamless music video mixing. During his tenure, JD significantly enhanced his audio editing prowess and mastered the art of creating audio edits and remixes. These creations have been featured in nationally syndicated country mix shows and embraced worldwide, wherever country music finds appreciation.
