I tried so many genres on this one, hardstyle, trap, dnb, but nothing fit the vibe quite like PIRATESTEP. I love how the drop turned out tbh, and it really makes me want some rum too. Man, Donkey Kong Country has so many great songs… so I guess naturally I just had to take the last song and the first song and combine them! I had a lot of fun making this remix, and it is definitely something different. The genre here is the most akin to glitch hop but to be honest its hard to say. I wanted to capture the original feeling I got when fighting King K. Rool as a kid. The song was really nice and happy and it gave you that false sense of security, and then the drop was just like BAM FINAL BOSS xD And of course the intro theme is simply awesome.
