We are pleased to present a crown jewel of the early 80s Italian Minimal Synth scene. 
The MONUMENTS came into being in January 1981 in Turin when Mauro Tavella (keyboards, programming) and Andrea Costa (keyboards, voice) pooled their artistic experiences. From the outset they produced exclusively synthesised music, following the natural evolution in electronic music from the early days with monophonic synthesisers to the latest virtual sounds generated with the aid of computers.

The MONUMENTS released in 1984 their only official record on Discordie, a mini LP called "Age" comprising six incredibly fantastic electro-pop tracks, here reissued by Mannequin Records with 2 bonus tracks, "Veiled Lady" and "The Seals", which are out-takes from the same period. All the tracks were recorded on a Tascam 8-tracks, with external synchronisation of the percussions, at the TKS Studio in Torino.

From 1987 onwards, they focused exclusively on music for theatre, radio and independent film, writing scores for the opening sequences of programmes for some of the most important Italian TV companies as well as soundtracks for documentaries.  

Anna Logue Records released "XXVII" CD in 2009, an anthology of their music that contains the best of their early work from the years 1981-84. 

Some critics thought of this mini LP as being the best electropop record ever coming out of Italy.  A masterpiece!

On Fast Idol, LA-based Black Marble reaches back through time to connect with the forgotten bedroom kids of the analogue era, the halcyon days of icy hooks and warbly synths always on the edge of going out of tune. Harmonies are piped in across the expanse of space, and lyrics capture conversations that seem to come from another room, repeat an accusation overheard, or speak as if in sleep of interpersonal struggles distilled down to one subconscious phrase. At the same time, percussive elements feel forward and cut through the mix with toms counting off the measures like a lost tribe broadcasting through the bass and tops of a basement club Soundsystem.

Alessandro Adriani has become a trusted source for all kinds of beyond-the-grave minimal synth, industrial and coldwave delights. Aside from his work in releasing forgotten gems and up to the minute synth incantations, Adriani has also been quietly issuing out his own music as well. 

Originally released in 2016, 'Montagne Trasparenti' is now repressed on Mannequin Records with a full new graphic design.

"New wave/neu beta psychopomp, Alessandro Adriani ov Mannequin Records, makes an arresting solo LP debut with Montagne Transparenti’s ghoulish suite of atypical Italian horror atmosfear and stylised body music, highly recommended if you're into Demdike Stare, Not Waving or Italian Library Records..." The album was recorded between Adriani’s native Rome and adopted Berlin, “in various years of travelling, composing, fighting with cables and machines.”

In the last years Alessandro contribute to shape the new EBM and Techno sound with productions for labels like Stroboscopic Artefacts, Jealous God, Pinkman and Mannequin. Curator and resident DJ at Berghain/Panorama Bar and guest curator at Berlin Atonal 2018, Alessandro presented many of the tracks included in this LP with an audio-visual interactive 3D premiere live show in collaboration with Nuova Astrazione.
