The third 12-inch on Dessous from the Leipzig-based house duo Gamat 3000, aka Daniel Scholz and Matthias Tanzmann, marked another strong step for the pair. Tanzmann, resident DJ at the legendary Distillery Club and founder of the respected German deep house label Moon Harbour Recordings, joined forces with Scholz once again to produce another pearl of modern house: Whispering.

Alongside the original, the record featured two remixes. Chris Duckenfield, aka Swag, delivered an outstanding interpretation with his Softly Spoken Dub version, transforming the mellow grooves of Gamat 3000 into something distinctly his own.

Also included was a fantastic remix from Andreas Greiner, aka Frankman (also from Leipzig), who had recently made an impact with his debut release on Dessous Recordings (Make It Ruff, Make It Smooth / DES017).

What do you do when you are part-time bored, when you are part-time broke and – even better – when you claim to make and live dance music (of course, also part-time)? Well you are obviously running a record label. This is what Johannes Albert does since 5 fun years and 20 releases. Releasing his own music on vinyl but also his mates stuff. Frank will celebrate this anniversary among life & happiness early 2016 with two 12 inches and a lousy tour. Fred P lifting us up right from the start with his “Energy Cloud”. Brand new imprint @happycamperrecords (founded by Britta Arnold, unders and Noraj Cue) drops new single "Time To Waste" as their sophomore release (pre-order via this link: www.beatport.com/label/happy-camper-records/66562) courtesy of Bar25 legend, KaterBlau resident and Berlin mainstay @jake-basker. The American-born singer/dj/producer has been in Germany long enough now to understand the art of making an <em>"Ohrwurm"</em> (=earworm) - "Time To Waste" is one of those tunes that keeps resonating inside your head long after you've heard it. With its thumping beat, catchy vocals and roaring synthline, it's bound to set any dancefloor ablaze.

Although many believe "Time To Waste" is a love song, Jake actually wrote it for his friends: 

<em>"I was at Kater one morning, getting tired of the cyclicality of raving, thinking I really ought to go home and kiss my wife, take care of my kids, get some sleep, get my life together and get some music done. Some friends wanted me to stay and keep dancing. I was like: 'If I had any time to waste, I'd waste it with you. But I don't so… Bye!'"</em>

Our Diversions series explores the diverse processes and influences that manifest during the remix process. Each release presents fresh takes on the label’s original productions by both XYZ stalwarts and newcomers alike. This series is a chance to connect artists from across the musical spectrum in the pursuit of unique and unexpected tracks.

For the second release in the Diversions series, XYZ has collected an eclectic mix of producers dripping with quality. Daniel Bortz is a unique figure in the underground scene, gliding under the radar past trends and genre boundaries to a point where he is one of the most respected artists in the game. A stalwart on the esteemed Permanent Vacation, Bortz has also graces enigmatic labels such as Innervisions, Suol, and Watergate. Through collaborations with Acid Pauli and remixes of James Blake, Bortz remains impossible to categorize.

Alejandro Mosso’s Caravan caught the ear of Bortz, who’s laid a stiff rhythm and acid-vibe to percussive groover. Through keeping the original’s minimal-oriented kick, the Caravan remix is primed for dark rooms with crisp sound.

Mirco Veitengruber, also known as VEITENGRUBER, is a professional in the dance music industry. His background dates back to the mid-1990s, as DJ and producer of the trance project Genetic Line. After a break, Mirco returned to the music industry in 2009 and his sound has matured, as evidenced by the success of his hit "Gimme Some Muah". He has released music on renowned labels and performed as a DJ and live act all over the world. In 2012, he founded Degree Records and later "hi-music" to demonstrate his passion for house music.
