Hey there SoundCloud! It has been several years since my last upload, and this is my first actual performance related video since my rap video 6 whole years ago! I have a firm motivation to continue my YouTube journey and have recently been inspired to pay my repsects to various songs that resonate with me. This particular song came into my life from a YouTube shorts video uploaded by a user named dsand: www.youtube.com/shorts/TazXsgQHo2w

The animations by dsand are filled with quick, dry humor with popular memes and sound effects, and after seeing a few of them in my feed, I quickly binge watched all of the bob/susie shorts. Something about the combination of the character animation and the stories they tell through each short does a great job of cultivating an emotional attachment to the characters, at least for me. I'm not embarrassed to say that I cried while watching this linked short and hearing the song for the first time.

I saved the dsand short and the Anthony Lazaro track in one of my playlists and forgot about the song completely until about a week ago, when it randomly started playing in a shuffle. I had a lot of fun creating the melodies with the autotune software because it gives me the ability and freedom to do things with my voice that I normally can't do. Hopefully anyone listening will see the use of autotune as a tool, like any other tool in a DAW, to create a nice effect on my voice and the chords I chose to sing. Sometimes. it can be a struggle to use the perfect blend of autotune with your natural voice when using it for your own music, but here I was just mainly going with what sounded pleasing to my ear(:

The final sound I created was a deep electronic bass that was slowly modulated by a lowpass filter. Once I heard my vocals with this newly created massive patch, I thought the entire cover had a much darker tone that captured the overall sadness and beauty of the original song. Other than my vocals and the bass/violin, the rest of the song was purely the instrumental of the original song, which I obtained by using an AI vocal isolation software for free online.

Finally, I hope you enjoyed the violin at the end. Let me know what you want to hear me play on the violin. I want to start doing videos of violin covers of songs from user comments. I can play almost anything using my natural ear and my ability to read sheet music, so don't be shy!
