platines a déjà tapé dans l'œil d'artistes renommés - comme Francois X - en signant l'une de ses sorties sur son label XX Lab, ou encore In Aeternam Vale avec qui elle s'est produite en live aux Nuits Sonores 2021. Membre du collectif Under Rave créé par u.r.trax, elle est une digne représentante de la nouvelle scène techno FR, elle s'affranchit des domes et du patriarcat.


Young Moroccan artist based in Lyon, VEL amazes by her vision
of techno in the lineage of her fellow u.r.trax with whom she
evolves. Halfway between fusion of sounds and works, his tracks
are as many invitations to the dancefloor as to introspection. His
energy behind the turntables has already caught the eye of
renowned artists - like Francois X - by signing one of her releases
on her label XX Lab, or In Aeternam Vale with whom she
performed live at Nuits Sonores 2021. Member of the collective
Under Rave created by u.r.trax, she is a worthy representative of
the new FR techno scene, she frees herself from dogmas and
patriarchy.

It's time to open your eyes, this first side is full of movements ready to hypnotise and energise a dancefloor waiting for these sonic gems.
We must spin the record to find a blood coming from Kingston, however it is the Pilat that will give the rhythm of these green wizards. Their colours, of which this land alone knows the secret, blow a groove may be born from an AKAI MPC10003 caught in the Vieux Port. Its 3 pads and 2 missing buttons will deconstruct your mind.

Next up in our mix series is Vel - a Moroccan artist, France-based, dj, producer of electronic music and engineer. Vel is part Mama Loves Ya, and from her base in Lyon, as a resident of the local club Le Secure - she has earned a big reputation around the globe.

In this mix Vel, takes us on excursion through the brainy, fast-paced and tribal outer ranges of psychdelic techno. Celar-paced yet textured techno, powerful yet graceful, Vel’s sound radiates through throbbing drums she summons from her memories, celestial whispers and fragile voices: the divine feminine emanates from all the pulsating vibrations she casts.

Vel, Alias Jennifer Parienté, is Moroccan artist, France-Based, Dj,
Producer of electronic music and engineer. When she left Rabat, her hometown, at 18 years old for Lyon, Jennifer studied to become an
engineer. Yet, one particular night shook her path up: she met techno music for the first time at Le Sucre and it was love at first sight. With these new Doors opened, she passionately nurtured
from the club culture she encountered there, up to the point where she allowed herself to ascend, becoming Vel. Celar-paced yet textured techno, powerful yet graceful, Vel’s sound radiates
through throbbing drums she summons from her memories, celestial whispers and fragile voices: the divine feminine emanates from all
the pulsating vibrations she casts. During sets, Vel knows no limits of genre, she’s always eager to hit hard, defying boundaries and BPMs, a true force of nature.

In a small amount of time, Vel’s journey was already marked by the friendship and the guidance of artists such as François X, u.r.trax or In Aeternam Vale. She looks up to them and to other artists where she also finds inspiration: Bjarki, Anetha, Schacke, Objekt...

Vel is appearing on compilations such as Blue Hour’s last release, will release a collaboration track with Unklevon on Boys Noise records, and will soon be releasing her debut album on Mama told ya.

Vel is back with a mesmerizing new album featuring 10 tracks that draw you in with her captivating energy. Are you ready to heed the call? The High Priestess of Drums plunges us into a world of vibrant Techno and brisk Tribal rhythms, while her Ambient passages offer a calming retreat and her Mental influences are bound to stir your emotions. Rest assured, “there is always a solution.” Renowned for her expertise in rhythmic innovation and spatial soundscapes, Vel presents a revitalizing and dynamic release. MTY-011 promises to cleanse and rejuvenate—let yourself be immersed.

With a hint of irony, The Babe (A1) playfully teases, “Do you love me? Do you love my music?” But Vel’s real question is more reflective: you’re in deep water. Dive into the sound bath of Humans in Cafe (A2), close your eyes, and let the drums, the kicks, the bangs, and the buzz wash over you. One Xanax Introspection (A3) later, Vel is inviting us to explore the full spectrum of frequencies—a galloping race of deep bass and high treble in this ambient choreography.

Darling it's better down where it's wetter: joining Vel for a jam session « under the sea », it’s Anetha! Driving percussions are combining with a pulsating psytrance bassline, pure magic: « Ain’t We Mermaids (C1), dear? » Vel, ever the master of the salty beats, slows it down just enough to say, «I Don’t Care (C2),» as she deconstructs. A few moments later… She’s at it again—just when the BPMs are peaking, she draws us into a state of floating lethargy. That’s the absorbing power of Ambient Core (C3).
The current is strong with this one—prepare for a challenge. Deep Tracks Don’t Sell (D1) will drift you away in a swirl of intertwining undulations and dripping drums. It’s time to return to the surface: with a bubbly twist of whimsy, Oh La La (D2) pops in, full of new-wave energy. Vel gently swims us back to shore.

For this new LP, the artwork was crafted in-house under Vel’s artistic direction. The design was skillfully executed by Diplomatie Studio, while mastering was entrusted to In Aeternam Vale, Vel’s close friend and mentor.

On April 18, 2025, Vel unveils the first-ever VA on her new label, PURR, marking a significant milestone in her rising career. Titled P:\URR(V1)_pleaseinsert_ILOVEYOU, this six-track compilation, featuring six cutting-edge artists, is ready to infiltrate and corrupt the electronic scene.

A transmission of club energy, ASMR, and mental overload:
With P:\URR(V1)_pleaseinsert_ILOVEYOU, Vel curates a lineup of fearless programmers. Each track is engineered to execute in the club environment, embedding ASMR-like frequencies and intricate sonic patterns that phish the listener’s senses. This release encrypts a new strain of fast, introspective, cerebral electronic music.

A paradox in code: when love mutates into chaos: This VA draws its core inspiration from the infamous ILOVEYOU virus, a digital plague born from obsessive passion, proof that an emotion too powerful can spiral into devastation. Much like the virus that once spread uncontrollably, P:\URR(V1)_pleaseinsert_ILOVEYOU infiltrates the mind, its hypnotic intensity spreading through each beat.
