After working on my first serious effort in GarageBand (Clarkeian), I made a decision about my work. With little exception, I would be playing every part myself rather than using Apple's(or other's) Premade Loops from that point forward.

My starting point in GarargeBand '11.
I did this one after while on a break from working outside in my glass studio. I was cooling off and just started tinkering around, kinda liked it and thought to save it. 
It has mood.


Made some changes. . . 
Cleaned a few things up. . . 
Is a song EVER really locked off?

This is my so called, tour de force to this date. My most ambitious effort. There is a lot going on, and its a long song, but to me it does not feel so long. What do you think? I enjoyed fine tuning, and hear a few things I STILL want to go back in and fix. (Now I know how George Lucas might feel about "fixing" his creations. . . Though. . . I PROMISE, No jaba or sarlak type choices.)

I Was/Will Be

Lee grew up in a musical family, on the Texas Gulf Coast south of Houston.  His earliest memories are of hearing his Dad learn and practice the 5 string banjo. ("Pop is quite the PICKER to this day!") His Folks were involved in Bluegrass/Country/Gospel Groups as long as he can remember. 
"I swear I was learning rhythm and harmony before I was crawling, let alone walking. In fact, Mom says she sang and patted us while still in her tummy to sooth both my brother and me when we were restless in the womb."  He recalls. 

Though his family was involved in traditional music and there were stringed instruments of every variety imaginable present and available for use, he gravitated to the Piano and Organ that were there in the home. He was also lucky enough to have a Father very interested in Multi-track  Recording. When his Pop decided to build a small recording studio in the house, Lee jumped at the opportunity to learn as much as he could and use the available equipment as much as he was allowed. After he proved himself worthy of trust, his parents allowed him to experiment and record as often and as late as needed. (even on school nights as long as grades didn't suffer.) 
 Some of his friends may recall him playing those early songs which he wrote in class and recorded at home. "I could NOT Wait to get to school to share those tunes. (Back then we used hand held cassette tape machines to share music kids.) Needless to say I was distracted, a bit, from the learning process in those days. Some of those early recordings still exist in their original reel-to-reel tape form.(1/4" , 8 x multi-track) "

 He was a fan of electronic music from a very early age, and those early influences are evident in his music today.
"I have a very early memory of sitting in front of the TV waiting for Sesame Street to come on. In those days(late '60s early '70s) PBS was not on all day. Test patterns would be on during the day and then before a show would come on, they would would have little filler pieces. One in particular made a HUGE impact on me. It was early CG of colorful Spirographic images with music by JEAN MICHEL JARRE.(specifically Equinox V) It changed my life. . . I was hooked on those syncopated, rich sounds. Kraftwerk and Gary Neuman were early favorites, followed by Vince Clarke of DepecheMode, YAZOO, and erasure. These artists' music reaches a very deep rooted place in me. I think you can hear their influence in ALL of my work. I am fascinated by syncopated melody to this day."

 He got his first pro keyboard in 1986 when he was a senior in high-school. This was his choice as a graduation present. Over the years, he has had various Roland synths and drum machines.

Though he has not followed a musical career path. he has music in his blood, heart, and soul and the desire to make music and live creatively has been, and will always remain Very, VERY, "LEE".
