BRYD is an experimental concept album I'm currently working on for my Masters degree in Music Tech, summer '24. It will be a series of ambient/ progressive/ heavy rock improvisations based on the Medieval English love song, "Bird on a Briar", combining historical instrumentation with contemporary soundscapes. This is possibly the weirdest thing I have ever written. It's very rough- I played everything just the first take, and actually my first time recording my electric drumkit.

Down by the trees
Where he wove conceited fantasies, 
She sent me down-
I remember every word

Not the rare, rare 
one I took you for-
I thought you were kind.
I’ve a free mind, I’m not waning!
She was so diminished by the crowd.

Play me your demo, laughing-
You feel exposed, but you are safe in here.
You weave, weave untrue fingers into mine then distort me,
Tell yourself lies

And you go against your own grain-
I thought that you had strength of character.
You are fettered, I do better
But I know I would love you all again.


Clasp is broken, it’s a necklace -
Pick it up from the ground.
And if she has a heart, it doesn’t make a sound.

Slips from your grasp; like the feelings, filagree. (If you’ll agree)
It’s delicate. Oh she cast me, aside easily
(Oh and you just dont grow).
