Vélvez, mit bürgerlichem Namen Thomas Castañeda, bekannt als Mitbegründer und Pianist des Wiener Quartetts Donauwellenreiter, stellt sein erstes Solo-Programm vor. Der gebürtige Tiroler verarbeitet in seinen Klaviermeditationen Erfahrungen und Eindrücke, die er während eines mehrmonatigen Aufenthalts in Kolumbien gesammelt hat. 

Vélvez choreografiert seine Konzepte, Kompositionen, Skizzen, Improvisationen wie auch spontane Einfälle in einer spannungsvollen Dramaturgie. Es sind leise Hymnen und kreisende Gedanken in einer fragilen Tonsprache, getragen vom unbändigen Wunsch nach Leben, nach Dauer, ja, Ewigkeit.

VÉLVEZ aka Thomas Castañeda was born 1982 in the Alps and has roots in México.
He came as a talented self-taught artist in terms of pop and world music to Vienna, refined his skills and cultivated his own compositional work over the years.
It was in Vienna 2008, when he founded the group "Donauwellenreiter", that has been praised and recognized for both its outstanding live concerts and recordings.
VÉLVEZ's debut album as a solo artist 'I WILL NEVER DIE' was released on APR 29th 2022 by col legno.
