As a result of all of this, drawing direct lines between institutions, especially as different as the French and Brandenburger-Prussian, is a difficult thesis to prove.


At the same time, I think you oversell your case, Jörg. Friedrich undoubtedly used the examples of French commanders of the prior period to educate both himself and his commanders. We all know his predilection for French culture over German, particularly considering how new Brandenburg-Prussia was relative to other German states, giving him few "native" examples to draw on. I love CPT, I've not had concerns about the spaced repetition. I do use the option to train from a position to help me learn a specific line faster, I hope that helps. I do wish that they had a 64 bit version, the 32 bit version is super slow even when using a powerful processor, and an SSD/NVME drive .


Has anyone has any news about upcoming CPT 6? It has been very quiet for some time now. I like CPT, there is no other chess software better for building a repertoire. But a lot of things can be improved. CPT becomes unstable if handling very big repertoire files. I also like Lucas Chess. It has an option to import best moves from a bin book to a repertoire. It would be nice if this was possible in CPT to.


Basically its a memorizing tool. Helps you remember the sequence of moves of your preferred system/repertoire. You can add variations within the repertoire. You can plug-in a chess engine such as crafty to do kibitzing and recommend moves.


It will become a major time saver for your daily work and make it even fun to train your

You can export the openings to pgn but I have noticed that there is an error and there are many threefold and more-fold repetitions in the games. You can solve this by importing the pgn in chess position trainer and export to pgn again. I also like Hiarcs Chess explorer. You can sort games for one player by opening name. So you can make repertoires for it. You can edit the player name in a text editor or in Chess Assistant.


I have used Chess Position Trainer for years. I now only play "postal" chess and no longer memorize openings. Also chess position trainer is the only application I have the requires windows and I would like to stop using windows.

The process of entering all candidate moves is quite time consuming I have to admit, but it also ensures you really go through all variations. However, since chess publishers started offering eBooks which come with a PGN file you can also just buy these and save time.


Now, I could improve the import performance, but then again I wonder how this approach can be efficient anyway. I mean, somehow you have to go through all positions and decide for each position which move should be your candidate move (and delete the others).

born_naughty: Can't say I agree on lumberhill. The menu was fine for me. There are coop elements to it but they're more casual and you'll need them to earn 3 stars and the extra axe (challenge). But it's more accessible than something like overcooked and that can be a good thing for some. I haven't experienced any glitches. I don't believe flying away when the tree grows back is a glitch at all. The controls are clunky nut not more then in similar games like overcooked. While it's definitely not on par with the better competitors, we enjoyed it. It keeps adding new elements to the mix that keep the game fresh.

Well, the title sure is a very different one and after seeing the film, I feel the title is apt and justified.


Kathir is one of those guys and a person who really does not know what to do with his life. His carefree life style and the treatment he gets from his father make him belittle. And Anitha comes to his colony and as a neighbour. Her family was a wealthy family and due to financial problems, they shift to 7G. She aims at higher things in life, exact opposite to Kathir. Kathir falls in love with her. He goes after her again and again, and has placed her very high in his heart. She accepts him after long time. Her acceptance changes his behaviour. She finds his talent and helps him to land a job.


Amid this Anitha's marriage is at stake and her parents give their words to one of their relatives who helps them to get out of financial problems. Anita's mom finds out that Kathir and Anitha are in love. They move out of the colony and ask Kathir to stay out of Anitha. What happens after it leads to the climax of the film that spans almost for 30 mins.





Background score plays a very important role when visual media like cinema properly used. It is hard to imagine watching movies portraying psychological side of human beings without proper score. Instead of uttering hundreds of words, a few words with good piece of music will deliver the needed emotional thing to the viewers. Yuvan Shankar Raja and Selvaragavan have understood it perfectly. And Yuvan Shankar Raja has done it again after his stupendous score in Kathal Kondein. I wanted to keep track of good pieces coming in the movie but there are so many. I bought the OST of KK when it got released and I hope they release the OST of 7G soon.. Grab your copy if you like OSTs, the album will be a treat for sure.

After doing lots of koshano, I mashed the pieces, so all parts get equally cooked with spices. Note that I have not added a lots of water because jack-fruits were soft. But you can always add water to enhance cooking.


The guitar is a 1995 model with the Fishman u/s transducer and no "barndoor"
controls in the upper bout.
Since I haven't had the endpin jack out of the guitar yet, can anyone tell
me:1. Is the preamp part of the endpin jack?
2. Can the connection be tightened up by bending the "tip" contact in, so
as to have greater tension against the plug's tip?
3. Do I have any other options besides sending the preamp, or even the
whole guitar, back to Taylor?TIA for any help anyone can offer.John



I had a similar problem with my 1997 412 CE...I removed the endpin jack to
see if I could bend the tip in, and found that the whole assembly is
enclosed...I couldn't get to the tip.In my case, the problem turned out to be with adjustment of the
"barrel"...minute adjustments over time (every time the nut on the outside
of the guitar was loose and I tightened it), had positioned the barrel so
that the 1/4" jack wasn't going in as far as it should. A small adjustment
of the nut on the assembly *inside* of the guitar cured the problem.My guitar *does* have the barn-door preamp, so there's no preamp on the
jack. I don't know what the case would be with yours...whether the preamp
is mounted to the jack, or elsewhere inside the guitar body. Where do you
put the battery? Have a look at that assembly, and you'll be able to tell

These jacks are sealed. You can clean light dirt off the contacts using
the brush that fits a 32 cal. S&W pistol. Such cleaning kits are easy to
find. A test tube bottle brush may also work. Look in the phone book.Good luck,

Mike, I know what you're referring to about the jack position shifting, and
the plug not going in all the way. I had that happen on the active I-Beam I
installed in my Seagull. (A little dab of Loc-Tite on the threads cured
that problem.) The jack on my Taylor has never come loose, so I don't
believe it has shifted. I know I've never had to re-tighten it. (BTW, I'm
looking forward to getting reacquainted at EC6!!)David E., re the preamp and jack being integral: I was afraid of that! I
have board-level soldering skills, so separating the jack from the preamp
probably wouldn't be beyond my capabilities, although I would probably have
to find a way of mechanically mounting the preamp separate from the jack
inside the box. I've seen strapjacks for sale at various online places,
such as Stew-Mac. Another poster (I believe it was Joe Jordan) said that
he'd removed internal preamps completely and wired the x-ducer directly to
the jack, and used an outboard preamp. I have a PADI, but I'm a little
leery of doing this for reasons of noise and of convenience. (I can't
picture gigging with a PADI clipped on to my belt!)David M., I don't believe my problem is dirt or corrosion related, as I can
definitely feel that the plug enters the Taylor's jack with less resistance
than it does my other guitar, or my amp. (Using the term "resistance" in

The suggestions in this thread have been on the mark. It looks like you
need a new jack. The $7 price David quoted is very good if you want to
that route. One last thing---sometimes it's worth trying another cable.
1/4" connectors can vary slightly in their specs (esp. the shape and location
of the narrow area of the tip), and it could be that another 1/4" connector
will work more reliably with your endpin jack. But even if it does, t
