Originally hailing from Richmond VA, the duo known as The Venture Brothers (iLL Omen & Mixedmedia) have long been known in the Central VA area as two of the best dnb djs for over a decade while under the Miles A. Head Recordings camp. Together, they are a force to be reckoned with in the studio and behind the decks, utilizing the full spectrum of drum & bass to create vibrant, entertaining sets known for keeping listeners moving on the dancefloor.

Since 1998, Mixedmedia (formerly known as Na.CL.) has been a fixture of the Central & SE Virginia Drum & Bass scene, either playing alongside regional and international talent or working in the studio to produce eclectic dancefloor killers. During his many years in Richmond VA, he was a part of Will Miles' Miles A. Head Recordings... and along with Will, Kjell, and iLL Omen...he worked on constructing his own sound under their tutelage. His sets are frequently associated heavier, dub-laden, and sometimes darker aspects of drum and bass. In the studio as 1/2 of the Venture Bros. with iLL Omen, he produces a wide variety of tunes from bootleg mashups to video-game sounding steppers to catchy rollers infused with pop culture samples that keep audiences talking and crowds moving. Now as a North Texas transplant, he brings the signature sound Richmond and Miles A. Head are known for to the Lone Star state.

"I play Drum and Bass. Simple. No sub-genres – no corny categories or kitchy labels. Been working at this for many years and came up with a Dance Hall 45 in one hand and a Hip Hop 12″ in the other. (<-- There is your chance for a cheap laugh!) Selection, pressure, and mix choppage are the forte. I play cuts that I enjoy - new, old, obscure - whatever. I like to slice up breaks and bass lines on the fly and construct new bits on the fly. I'm as much of a collector as I am a DJ and aside from playing/making music, I love soul food - a.k.a. PLEASE point me in the direction of the best soul food joint in town. Shows I have played? Many. Respected DJs/Producers played along side? Hundreds. Been doing this for a long while and don't plan on quitting. Other crews and Aliases? 1/2 of the Venture Brothers, 1/3 of VA Pressure, 1/2 of the Cash Money Brothers, Style Control, NUCO.
