We had a pretty crazy storm here in Vancouver BC yesterday (video at the end) and yet here we are today and the sun is shining on this beautiful day! I'll be taking a break from work to enjoy the holidays, be present and relax. I will be back the week of January 7th, 2019.

Yayyy!!! 2019!

The stormy night brought me to a dinner party with a bunch of us getting together to play pool, eat dinner and just enjoy this Christmas Season together.



We all had so much fun and the pub was absolutely packed with people. We had our little corner so we were happy as punch!

3 People I Found Interesting This Week

Cindy Bidar - I absolutely love product launches because they bring me closer to my subscribers and customers. I found out this week that Cindy has a product launch product called, Easy Product Launch Planning" so I picked it up, printed off the checklists and away I go with my product launch planning. Pretty easy and I'm pretty thankful as it will help me stay focused, plus I'm looking forward to seeing what she does differently.

Stu McLaren - Stu just uploaded a video on You Tube which takes you behind the scenes of his clients membership sites. If you don't know Stu you should definitely be following him, not only is he a great guy and friend of mine, he's super smart and his content is high level. This video I've already watched and plan to implement some things right away. I'll be creating a checklist of things to do on this video so if you want a copy of that, be sure to subscribe to my newsletter.

Pat Flynn - Pat is "the guy" to listen to when it comes to developing passive income. I really loved watching his video on his plans for the new year and will most likely implement his "post it notes" technique. Pretty simple and I love the idea that I can move the notes around to change the picture.

Happy New Year & Happy 44th Birthday to me (lol). 

I'm sitting here and there has been SO much happening since the start of this year, I can't believe I forgot to mention my birthday on this week's podcast. Geesh-ka-bob! 

Anyhow...

I had the most delightful new year over on Vancouver Island with my beautiful little family. Then when I came home I went straight into the Vision Board Workshop and then a little twist that I wasn't expecting. Listen in to find out what is happening in my world. 

In today's podcast I want to talk to you about changing your mindset from a negative to a positive.  I think there are a few mistakes that people make in business and the first one I'd like to share about with you is "believing your negative mindset".

[Podcast Episode 7] Change Your Mindset

Have you decided to start your business but are not sure where to start? This is your last chance to work with me before my "Business Launch Program" goes up $1000.00 by January 31st, 2019. 

Sometimes the work just seems to flow and you don’t mind working long hours on a project. Often those are also the things that end up making you the most money, and the reason is simple. The passion you have for the work you do shines through in the end result.

To make your business more profitable and a lot more fun at the same time, tap into your passion and work on what you love to do. Of course it isn’t quite as simple as that all the time.

Find A Market You Enjoy Serving
Start by finding a market that you enjoy working in. You’ll be creating a lot of content and talking a lot about whatever niche you chose to be in. While it is important that your niche is profitable. It’s just as, if not even more important that you enjoy what you do. After all, you’ll be spending a lot of time working on your business.

Your enthusiasm and love for the market will shine through as you write and talk about it. It will help establish you as a knowledgeable and creditable source of information. That will make gaining the trust of your potential customers much easier.

Attract Your Ideal Customers
Speaking of customers… Since you’ll be spending a lot of time interacting with, helping, educating and entertaining your customer base, you may want to pay attention to the type of clients you attract.

It’s helpful to get a clear picture of who your ideal customer would be. Be as specific as possible when it comes to gender, age, income level, if they are married and have kids etc.

Once you know what your ideal customer or client looks like, it will be a lot easier to find places where you can find them. Start your marketing there and build your ideal target audience.

Work On What You Love Doing
Online businesses have a lot of different parts. Some you’ll enjoy working on a lot more than others. If product creation is what you love, focus on that. If you prefer talking to writing, start an audio or video podcast instead of committing to writing daily blog posts.

Focus on what you have fun doing. Yes, there will be times when you have to do some stuff that isn’t as fun (taxes anyone?), but make sure you have some enjoyable work on your plate at all times. It’ll keep you going and makes the day go by much faster.

Outsource The Rest
Start to outsource anything you absolutely hate doing as quickly as possible. Then add to the list as you can afford to until you’re only left with work you enjoy.

With all the tedious parts removed, it’s amazing not only how much fun running your online business will be but also how much faster you will move forward with projects. The end result is a more profitable and enjoyable business.

The problem is, this all takes a lot of "know how" and "work" to do and when you're unsure of your direction,  you start stumbling over yourself. To launch your business you need to set up your brand, blog, social media presence and once that's all done, you need to know how to promote yourself. It's hard.

When I look back at my word PURPOSE for last year, it amazes me as I reflect on everything that happened. I was a bit stuck on what to create for my podcast this week and a friend on Facebook made a post asking if you felt old? I'm 44 years old and don't feel old at all, in fact I feel like I'm just getting started in life and in business. My life is created by very clear decisions and intention because hey, this is one life to live right?

Here's my Great Uncle Bing who passed away last year at 106. He was around 102 in this photo and he's holding my grandbaby Hazel, now that's legacy.

I asked Uncle Bing when he was around 103 what it felt like to be that age. He said he didn't feel a day over 45 and his advice was to:

1) Take care of your mind

2) Take care of your body

and I shall throw in a third one...

3) Take care of your heart - Proverbs 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

I've also learned from my Pastor John Burns at Relate Church that prosperity follows peace so if there's no peace, don't do it.

Phillipians 4:9 And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

How To Create Back End Sales 

Here’s the problem I run into and that I see a lot of other people have as well. You get into product creation mode, launch, and then get busy working on the next project. If building out the back end isn’t part of that product creation, chances are it will never get done.

You might have the best intentions of working on it later, or adding an email every few days. But guess what? We all get busy, and there are lots of projects and people grabbing our attention. Let’s talk about two strategies we can both take to make sure we monetize our back end and increase our bottom lines. We can either make it part of product creation as I mentioned already, or we can make it a project and set aside some time to go back and get it done.
