This song is kind of personal.  Revolves around how it feels like I'm always waiting on a phone call.  Either for bad news, or for a big break, etc.  The pressure you feel as you get older and still feel just as lost as when you were 18.  Feeling like you are the only one awake and alive in a world full of sleeping zombies.

I envisioned this song playing in my head driving home from a shitty work day.  One of those days you couldn't even get ready and go out as it wasn't even friday.  Much more laid back than previous tracks.   I actually recorded it a while ago but wasnt sure about it so I never made it public.  I might promote it depending on the response.

OF MICE AND MEN (Rough Draft

When I was 7 years old my sister administered the only drug I would ever need.
It came in the form of a cassette tape with the label "Dr. Dre - The Chronic". For the next seven years I absorbed and became painfully addicted to the likes of Tupac, Bone Thugs, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Easy E, Biggie Smalls, as well as many others. There was only one problem. I was white. Very white, at least thats what someone would have said when they saw what I was constantly putting in my ears. I rarely showed anyone what i listened to except my closest of friends, but Music never died down for me.
I eventually branched out and started listening to much more music all throughout the 60's to the 90s with The Beatles, Beach Boys, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, Jefferson Airplane, Otis Redding, The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Led Zepliin, Death, Motley Crue, The Cure, Michael Jackson, Oasis, Blur, Ride, The Verve an so on. I bought my first guitar when I was 15 and from that point on tried to make it as a guitarist/singer/songwriter. I was gifted when it came to songwriting but my voice deteriorated due to smoking lots of nicotine and THC. While I was on the way to giving up on that I began writing raps while at work in my head. I would come home and have my friends beatbox while I spit and everyone dug it. I started to do it at parties but never really did anything past that. After a while of being out of the music scene I decided to go back to my first love in Hip Hop and just record a couple songs. Turns out I'm pretty good. But don't take my word for it. You tell me.
