We're super pleased to welcome Arabian Panther to the series. The French/Lebanese producer and DJ is a favorite amongst the GF team. He's a founding member of the Toulouse Gouffre Club, which is a label and collective, and will release their debut next week on June 21st. A committed artist, he is very close to the Palestinian scene and cause. He signed his first track on the first Palestinian techno label “Harara” and was able to perform twice in Ramallah and Haifa. He recently released a track on Jennifer Cardini's label, Dischi Autunno, and is currently working on his debut album. He’s a 5-year resident at Monticule Festival and Radio Flouka. His style oscillates between warrior downtempo, slow goa, EBM, and everything in between. His hour-long selection is an energetic slo-mo journey perfect for the weather here in the city. Lock in!

Kri Podcast #12 - Alice in Flames

Throughout the 1980s, Michael Antener, born and raised in Bern, Switzerland, initiated an array of sonic endeavours in the realm of industrial, dark, aggressive music. Of his times as a post-apocalyptic hunter, he says today: "I found a musical niche where I could express myself, along with other people who were not afraid of dark themes. It would have been hard to sing about love in my music, so I included sounds and cries of pain taken from horror movies." 

It was a fortunate coincidence to come across one of his self-released records, the 1986 EP "Strangler of the Swamp", which marked the beginning of our quest to find this all but forgotten musician whose work seemed nowhere to be found. Eventually, we got in touch with Michael, who is still living in Bern, and began the process of searching through all his surviving musical and visual material. 

The triple vinyl release is all about documenting Michael Antener’s adventures during that intense 1980s period. We tried our best to select the most interesting material from his two earliest projects, "The Strangler of the Swamp" and "Bande Berne Crematoire", comprising materials from vinyl records, cassettes, and live recordings, some of it unreleased. The release also includes a deep dive into Michael’s visual archive of posters, photos, and sleeve artworks. 

The disjointed, tumultuous body of work presented here marks the testament of a fringe musician who was disruptive and confrontational, keen to shock and alarm people (much to our liking), and who could easily have been lost in oblivion.

Noémi Büchi (*1991, Zürich) is a Swiss/French composer and sound artist that creates and explores the potential of cross genre musical structures. Her music is defined by a delicate synthesis of textural rhythms and electroacoustic-orchestral abstraction. She contrasts rhythmic physicality with disruption and playfully emphasizes irregularities, creating an expansive listening experience marked by detail and elevation. Her musical work moves in the areas of electroacoustic composition, live performances, audiovisual shows, music for film, music for contemporary dance, music for installations, music for theater and for orchestral works. She holds a Master's degree in electroacoustic composition from the ZHdK (Zürich) and a Bachelor's degree in musicology and German literature/linguistic from the University of Zürich. During and after her studies, she played at various festivals and received a cultural prize from the city of Zürich. She regularly invited at renowned national and international festivals such as Ars Electronica (AUT), Mutek Festival (ESP), L.E.V. Festival (ESP), Variations Festival (FR), Linecheck Festival (IT).
