We're challenging ourselves to focus on listening first and then engaging in a conversation with our gadgets. Field recording becomes the only sound source and inspiration to craft musical stories. It's an all-or-nothing scenario. 

Twice a week we're inviting you behind the scenes, documenting the entire creation process in our website – from pressing 'Record' on the recorder to the gadgets and apps used to the final musical narrative.

"For this first .FTF, I rescued a summer field recording. One of those many days, recorder in hand, hunting for sounds. This one was right next to home. The kids were enjoying a sunny day by the pool while blasting the TV. Fragments of a movie could be heard from it. I was captivated by a melody and the conversation intertwining with the voices of the children. Quickly I hit play. I knew I was going to come back to this someday. And here it is"

Channeling Sheffield's UK techno heritage, whilst paying homage to its electronic forebears in Detroit, Aeon presents 4 new techno cuts that are undeniably more dance-floor orientated than earlier offerings, but retain the inimitable iNF0 sonic aesthetic.  Immersive soundscapes, melodic riffs, looping chords over driving but complex drum programming will appeal to fans of Warp and Axis alike.

Mike Schommer [Detroit] is acknowledged and highly regarded as one of the key producers behind the development of Dub Techno of the last 25 years, mostly notably for his partnership with Rod Modell as Deepchord until 2002. The DC series remains essential and prized artefacts for dub techno followers and record collectors. 

Mike returned after a break to focus on solo projects but also collaborates with other techno luminaries such as Steve O’Sullivan and recently foreged a mellifluous partnership with vocalist Milly James.

Ahead of his European tour in Berlin (Tresor) and debut live show in the UK, Manchester (Dub Explorations), this Verdant Session attempts to present the sounds and styles of Mike’s music. 

Featuring releases as Deepchord, Von Schommer, Lux, Techniker & Mike Schommer. 

MS remixes of Octal Industries, Vann Bonn & Upwellings & Fletcher.

This podcast is a kind of a perfect lullaby. It is like the sound of raindrops falling onto the ground. The drops dance, a ballet of sound, echoes of life. Let it wash your worries and bring clarity into your mind.

Few words from Andy:

I’ve been shuffling around the fringes of electronic music and club culture since the late 1980’s. I enjoy and explore diverse sounds and tempos, but always find returning to contemplative, deep ambient music therapeutic. Going back 20 years or more, Verdant Recordings was originally a home-made web space (way before platforms like soundcloud), and a means to share my ambient sets…. this recording reminds me of those times. Hope everyone appreciate this mix….records and CDs, recorded live, a little preparation but made with love! Thanks to ARC for their support.. we stumbed into one another recently but appear to be on similar wavelength!

✨ The old robots of the Beacons of the Old Grove stood as silent sentinels amidst the ancient trees. Once masters of communication, these mechanical guardians maintained a network of glowing beacons that connected distant realms. Covered in moss and entwined with vines, their rusted exteriors bore witness to countless seasons of change. These robots were crafted with intricate designs and imbued with an enduring purpose: to preserve the wisdom and memories of their creators. As the forest around them flourished and reclaimed the remnants of a bygone age, the beacons continued to emit their soft, ethereal light, a beacon of hope and connection in the heart of the enchanted woods. The old robots, with their dimly glowing eyes, stood in eternal vigil, whispering tales of unity and distant communication to those who would listen. ✨

With recent releases on Ornate, Chatéau Chépere, We Go Deep, and Fourier Transform, we see a welcome return for Rai Scott on her own imprint Inner Shift Music. Its been a long detour as it was back in 2014 when she had her own release with Reason to Smile, although her alto egos and remix projects have had more recent excursions.

This release is no exception with Rai’s own unique blend of ambient deep emotive House, with a surprising twist as the EP also includes an excursion into Dub and a broken beat track which is a real highlight.  There are three additional mixes included with the digital download. 

This is an independent vinyl pressing and this will be available in shops worldwide.
