I've always loved this song, but no one seems to do it anymore. And there aren't many covers. This is me on vocals and keyboard, but I've also done some fun stuff with the arrangement. This is an extremely rough demo for an arrangement of "Victim of a Foolish Heart" by Joss Stone that I've been working on. Done on one take with me singing & my keyboard and recorded with my tablet. Voice tired, so not at best. Will be better when I finish nailing it and record it right. I honestly don't know why more people don't do this song. It's amazing.

I discovered Paul Weller & The Style Council while living in Germany back in the 80's. I always loved this song, and in particular the very stripped down acoustic version of it on piano. A buddy playing the piano here with me singing. Hope you enjoy it.

Paul Weller - My Ever Changing Moods (Cover)

This is probably my favorite Paul McCartney track away from the Beatles, and it has always had a special place in my heart. I opted for a more stripped down and ballad type feeling for it. It's basically just one take of me singing and playing piano from the heart. (Our band does the Rock & Roll version, balls to the wall.)

I was driving home from work late one night and heard this song on a college radio station, and was struck by just how much the lyrics were relevant today. I worked out the melody on the keyboard and played a very stripped down version of it similar to a demo I found of Gil doing it back in the day. Again, just me playing in one take on keyboard (Rhodes with Phaser) and singing. Gil was ahead of his time!!!

Gil Scott Heron - Winter In America (Cover)

This is one of those songs I never thought I'd be able to master, but have always loved. I remember listening to this on my transistor radio back in the day. So, when I started learning to play piano, this was a priority to learn. Imagine my surprise when I discovered there are TWO PIANOS on the actual recording. I redid this track after a co-worker told me I needed a better mic. And she was right. This is a piano track recording and vocal track recording layed down over the backing track.   Enjoy!

Carole King - I Feel The Earth Move (Cover)

Steve Winwood is one of my all time rock favorites, having sung with the likes of Clapton, Cream, etc. And this song is one of my personal favorites. I've been through a very turbulent 2 years and playing this song was almost therapy for me, as it actually helped get me through my troubles. Sadly, no one seems to remember it these days. The track has me on vocals and piano, with a little experimentation at the end. Enjoy!

Steve Winwood - Roll With It (Cover)

I have been into Alan Parsons Project since I was a teen, and this cut off of I, Robot is one of my personal favorites. I've done some remixing with it, adding a much more urban funk beat to it and changed the Rhodes sound into an overdriven Wurlitzer for effect. Me playing keyboard and singing, while producing the rest. - 3/25/2016 - Replaced vocals for different sound and replaced with a chorused whurlitzer. Love this song!

Alan Parsons - I Wouldn't Want To Be Like You (Cover)

The very first Alan Parsons song I was introduced to, still one of my personal favorites. I got fancy with the reproduction on this one. I did a more acid twist on "Sirius", the intro, and then laid down multiple vocal track overlays for the harmonies. And I am playing Fender Rhodes on this one. Enjoy!

You know that song on the record that was awesome, but never got any airplay or any real notice? Well, this song was always that way for me, from Toto's first album. Yeah, I loved Georgy Porgy and the Hold the Line, but this was my favorite.

This is a single take of me singing and playing keyboard with a CP-80 patch. Has the really cool electric grand piano sound with some deep resonance. I think that was close to the original.

6/14/2016 - My old DAW died and none of my old plugins worked. So I did a remix with new vocals & keyboards, since I'm much more comfortable with it. Enjoy!

Toto - You Are The Flower (Cover)

I've been on a real Toto kick the last few weeks, and I found a really cool arrangement of Georgy Porgy. I've taken the liberty of tweaking it a little and adding a little more funk to it.

Georgy Porgy was the first cut where I digged the song and new who the band was as a teenager, and it seems like it's been covered by every R&B artist imaginable.

This is me playing piano in two different tracks, cause I'm just not good enough to play the backing piano and the solo at the same time. (Yet.) Me on vocals. 

I'm considering this a rough cut with some clean up later.

Georgy Porgy - Toto Cover

I have always loved the keyboards on Journey, and of course the pipes of Steve Perry. So I decided to do a cover of one of my favorite NON-BALLAD Journey songs. Me on keyboard (Electric Grand) and singing. Hopefully, I didn't embarrass myself too badly by attempting to do a Steve Perry song. I don't think anyone can do that man justice when it comes to vocals.

I just re-watched Magnolia for the first time in 10 years and truly remembered just how wonderful Aimee Mann's soundtrack for this movie was. So naturally, I did a quick arrangement of "Wise Up" for my keyboard. This take is the first time I've done a "live take" thru my amp with both keyboard and singing simultaneously. The beat track came out of my keyboard. I love this song. Adding it to my live play list.

Steely Dan is just amazing. I find myself working a whole bunch of their stuff right now. Partially cause Fagen is amazing on keyboard, partially because their music is so eclectic, but mostly cause I just love it. 

The Rhodes Phaser on this track is just entirely GROOVY. Unfortunately, I'm no where as good as all of the little touches Fagen puts on his keyboard stuff. However, this is a very fun song to play and to just plain rock out to.

Steely Dan - Black Friday (Cover)

Chris Whitley burst on the scene in 1991 and I couldn't play his first album enough. I've literally gone through at least 3 CD's of it. Unfortunately, the man died really young (40's) of lung cancer.

This cut is one of the non-mainstream cuts off of his non-mainstream album. This is an experiment with a MIDI arrangement using a slide guitar sample. I did it quick, so expect lots of cleanup over the next few months. Consider this a demo track for now.

Chris Whitley - Phone Call From Leavenworth (Cover)

This is, bar none, my favorite Steely Dan cut of all time. It's got a tight bass line with loads of funk. Me singing on fender rhodes phaser, and I added a solo rhodes piece inside of it.

I'll eventually redo this piece with a steady funk rhythm guitar in the background, but have to find someone to lay down the track! Enjoy.

Once a week, in my early twenties, my friends crowded around a TV set to watch an amazing television series. . . Moonlighting. And through that show, I managed to discover the wonderful talent of Al Jarreau. 

I would later collect all of his albums and even see him in concert (the best one I've ever seen in my life), but this is the magical song that turned me onto his works. And this is my tribute for some of the best pipes God ever granted a man. Me on vocals and keyboard.

This is the very first CD I ever bought. I was a MAD CRAZY David Sanborn fan, and I immediately connected with this track. Because, it's exactly what you feel when you are in your early 20's and deeply feel the pain of a failed love affair. Right?

This song has been in my bones for decades. I didn't play keys on it, but I recorded the vocal track in one take. I'll probably redo the scats at the end, cause nobody can scat like Al Jarreau could.

Factoid: In concert, he never talked. He always scatted when he was talking.

Al Jarreau - Since I Fell For You (Cover)

I am so excited that Jamiroquai has released another album, the first in 7 years. I instantly got hooked on Cloud 9, and got my hands on the raw arrangement. I changed it up some to be a little more piano centric and funked up the drums and bassline. I think it's a little more like the arrangements from the first 3 albums. I hope you enjoy!
