I recorded this song on July 4th, celebrating our freedom with a day off from work.
In keeping with the theme of my last song, Zig Zag Curveball, I have recorded something quite a bit different from my usual sound. I played all of the parts on all instruments for this one, which turned out to be quite the project. I hope you enjoy my take on jazz fusion.
A little later this month I will be publishing one more song that strays a little, well, more like a lot, from my "usual" territory. Stay tuned.

Freedom Jazz [Dungeon of Doom Studio]

The first riff is influenced by crazy circus music, you know the tune I am sure. That riff morphs into a soul flavored rhythm section with some lively guitar soloing to accompany it. That evolves into a punk rockish sort of jam to finish off the track. The whole tune was originally inspired by the crazy world that has cultivated here in the US and abroad in recent years. Overall...it's a Clown Show.

To celebrate the official birthstone of September, and my birthday month, I created this ambient piece. I built it around a repeating delay motif on my guitar and added some other guitar and synth parts to create a cinematic feel. It sounds really cool with headphones.
Oh, I forgot to mention...today is my birthday, so let's get Sapphire Crazy.

I started the atmosphere of Mr Tom last October, and after a few  sessions over the last 50 weeks I have finally created the character of Mr Tom. Who is Mr Tom you might ask?  I honestly have no idea, but without further accomplice, I introduce...Mr Tom.

This is a special release for Halloween, a ditty I created around a certain theme song that some may be familiar with. If not, maybe you'll find it entertaining at least.
Ten years ago I was in a little country band that also liked to play rock music, and we had a Halloween show to play in my little town. As we planned on dressing up for the show as Wolfman, Dracula, and Frankenstein, I thought it would be fun to have an intro theme song to help us to the stage; this is that song. Hope you have as much fun listening as I did re-visiting it for a new master treatment. Happy Halloween!!

Oh Herman 2023 Master

I actually recorded the bluesy mid-section jam first, but thought the tune needed something completely different to flesh it out. So I set out using a basic tom rhythm from Discreet Drums "Space Time" instant drummer from Sonoma Wireworks and built up the section layer by layer using various organ settings on my Roland Juno.
As for the title....the Space Time drummer is in 3/4 time signature.
So have a seat, grab a drink, and check out 3 Quarter Saturday...on Sunday!!!

A rocking song about people and the evil that rules us all. Part rock song and part protest song, Willickers paints a picture of the crazy, mixed up, INSANE world we live in.

Late last year I started putting this together to represent a direction  I would be exploring more this year. It grew out of that and into the monster I present here today. The inspiration for the song title comes from the apparent direction the world, and especially the US, is headed....Where We're Going there is no ice water!!

Haven't really done a heavy blues tune in awhile, so while playing around with an old distortion pedal, an original Boss HM-2 that I purchased in 1985, I came up with this raunchy sounding tone and put it to use in the blues idiom. The lyrics are a glimpse into the world of tripping, alluding to the coming down side of hallucinogens. No drugs were taken during the production of...Acid Blues.

The very first time I played a Casio keyboard as a teenager, I came up with what could best be described as Funeral music. Now, decades later, I own my own Roland keyboard and I happened upon the Church Organ setting, and figured what better time to revisit that old feeling. Long story short, I added a whole bunch of guitar parts and turned the whole thing into what you will hear today. So grab a Hearse and get ready for...a Funeral Trip.

This epic piece was started in March this year. I plugged in to my Canyon delay pedal from electro-harmonix that day, and when I pressed the button to turn it on, this super chimy organ sound came out! Anyway, I messed around with that sound long enough to come up with the other parts and put it all together.
I designed the title to follow up with my song last month, Funeral Trip, sort of a concept series if you will. No organs were used to record this song, so turn it up and watch out, someone may think you have Organs for Sale.

Originally recorded as an instrumental a dozen years ago, Notorious State of Mind is now a song about confrontation; the kind of confrontation where someone gets in your face and screams about how oppressed they are, and basically oppresses you instead. This kind of insanity is more and more prevalent today. I am sure most everyone can relate to these types of people. But don't let it get to you kids....it's a Notorious State of Mind.

Started in March of this year, Dogs was originally going to have lyrics, but I could not come up with anything I liked. So after some deliberation I decided to arrange it as a jam tune instead. As a cat person myself, I probably couldn't think of anything positive to write about their canine friends, but my guitar seemed to want to communicate about them, so, without any more rambling, I give you...Dogs. 
Oh, the picture is one of my nieces' dog Cory. For whatever reason on our last visit he decided he wanted to hang with me.

One of my all time favorite songs by one of my all time favorite bands. I have intended no copyright affiliation with the production of this song, I only wanted to record it for my entertainment. It turned out really well, so I really felt I should share  it.

A few months in the making, this song reflects a lifelong obsession with metal music. For good measure I threw in a Pink Floyd-ish rhythm section for the main guitar jam sections. Crank it up!!! Metal For Life.

A little ditty I through together, hence the title, of different parts and a lot of energy. The lyrics refer to the dumbing down of society through mediums such as social media and mainstream news. Over time, we have turned our brains to soup.

Well the working title of this particular asskicking rock song was "Gnarly Dude", originally conceived as a summer release, got put on the sidelines to produce my last two vocal songs. Not wanting to be on the naughty list, I resurrected the Dude, added some "holiday" music and some crazy guitar work, and renamed it "Gnarly Christmas" for your entertainment. Hopefully it can help you raise up some Christmas spirit....let's Get Gnarly Christmased!!     Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year!!! See you on the other side.

Started just a few weeks ago on a very rainy day. I was feeling a bit melancholy because I was stuck in the house with only the rain to keep me occupied. Out of that came this little acoustic guitar idea to occupy me instead. In the weeks after the original session, we had more rainy days here so I added the solo parts on top using a new reverb pedal and my Les Paul. It's pretty rough because I didn't want to overproduce it, so hopefully this finds you on a Rainy Day, Lazy Day.

I started this track back in November of '24 using my keyboard as a starting point. It soon built up into a more complex piece as I changed moods in the middle, topped off with some guitar work using my mic'd-up Laney IronHeart amp that I purchased last year and some new pedal effects (which I don't typically use). After some time sitting on my hard drive I finished polishing it up for release, but I could not think of a good name for it, so I went with Untitled 2 (funny enough, there isn't a 1!!). Crank it up!!

I started this one back in February with that cool bass tone that I created. Originally I was going to write the lyrics as an expose on society and how polarized we have gotten, blah blah blah, but that has been done to death so I didn't. Plus, I just could not come up with anything!! Then one day two weeks ago I kind of went crazy and lost my shit. That night I sat down and wrote out the lyrics that you hear now, as a way to let it go and try to recover. Sometimes we have to ask for help, so with the encouragement of my family I reached out and have since started treatment for depression. Finally!!! So, without further adieu, I present Kicked in The Head.

A metallic blues kinda jam tune. Recorded with Riffworks and mastered with Ozone7. Pretty much the only way I will ever record and master music. It is so easy. I took the picture on my iPhone, looking over the top of my car. I touched it up using NCH Suite.

Fully Funkshunul

This little number is totally inspired by my cat Sixx Vicious (pictured in all his round glory). It starts out with some crunchy blues in a straight forward 4/4 groove, and than morphs into a slow 6/8 groove before exploding into a full gallop 6/8 groove.
Towards the end it slows back down into a shuffle rhythm that fades into a rather different ending...surprise!!!! It's Chonkers.

Well, we made it halfway through 2025!
 Not very much has changed here in Dungeon of Doom Studio. I will still continue to put out honest music, created right here by me, through the last half of the year. I have a few new ideas in the works, some heavy and some not (maybe even a couple with vocals) which I will finish putting together and release in the coming months.
