<p>Olivier returns to Say What? and kicks things off with the title track where we are introduced to a lazy rhythm section complete with tribal-esque percussion, vocals snippets and mangled flute samples.&nbsp; On &#8220;Exceptionally Clever&#8221; the rubber-band bassline leads the way as simple melodic lines intertwine with stylish chords and retro-style drum programming.&nbsp; &#8220;Incredibly Smart&#8221; oozes of nostalgia, courtesy of the loopy synths and electronic riffs while the the rocksteady drum set keeps everything in check.&nbsp; &#8220;Compulsive Disorder&#8221; closes the EP and opts for a more House-y vibe, with distorted synth stabs piercing the air and spoken word passages relating to the title.</p>

The headline track here is led by a haunting bass line and an excitable percussion which injects energy and menace at the same time. Included on the release is a remix from a familiar face to STG. Sasha Carassi returns with a thumping and hypnotic piece. The groove is relentless and the pace is just right, creating a must have for your techno arsenal.An additional version is put forward by Jason Fernandes who alters the feel, creating intense pulsating pads and synths, accompanied by an extremely addictive groove. As winter leaves us behind, STG provides this massive release for 2012.

Opening with the Vangelis inspired Present Voyage then weaving a path through gritty throbbing bass, exemplified by Arrival and on to minimized funk of Disco Diva and Need House, Sonic Intervention progresses naturally on through the swirling tension of Get Up and crescendos with the combination of floor-burner NZT and the old-school Electro stomping Electric Pandemic; featuring the vocals of Detroit Grand Pubas Paris Du Black Fu. When quizzed on his motivations behind his latest studio album, The Advent stated I wanted to do something quite personal for this first album and delve a little bit into the past to get inspiration from my influences to make an album that reflected all the musical genres I have been inspired by over the years electro, electronica, tech house - not just the techno tracks. Future music from a past master, made for the here and now.
