Mwamwa, aka Danz Maxine and known from past releases on Bunk3r R3cords, debutes with a 3-track EP with a style that can not be compared with releases from Danz Maxine. The last set of 2023 let's you experience the same style as his first release. Judge it yourself, we are already a huge fan!

Bio:
Mwamwa is self-discovery through music creation, a laboratory of unpredictable sound experimentation where complex patterns, generative synthesis techniques and asymmetrical structures would be present, as well as compositional resources, counterpoint and irregular time signatures; looking to achieve an ethereal style with Techno, Jungle and IDM predominance, but also exploring many other possibilities.

It is a space of resistance to everyday's vicissitudes and homologous hegemonic currents, a space of rebellion against predefined orders. It is the search for answers to anxious questions and the space for the necessary catharsis that avoids losing our sanity; 

it is a walk-through the innermost recesses of our thoughts and emotions: those that were oppressed and denied by the prevailing wave of positivity that society expects from us, those that we are not allowed to express outside the couch.

It is a crossing point between philosophy, art and science, which creates small moments of maximized reality that take us beyond the limits of our imagination. It’s a political statement for freedom.

Küetzal is a techno producer and DJ that brings a wealth of experience and talent to the scene. His sound design and music technology expertise further enhance his work, making his tracks and collaborations with labels like Gomboc Records, Taro Record, Askorn Records, OUT Of CTRL, stand out, earning him the support of big names in the techno scene like Perc, Dj Stingray and I Hate Models. Küetzal is also a co-founder of the London-based label Sticky Ground supporting established and up in coming producers & DJs and promoting techno events in the UK capital.

Meet Stevo, better known by his alias i am dat i am—a dedicated music enthusiast with deep roots in the electronic music scene. Stevo’s passion for music began early, sparked by his piano lessons as a child and further nurtured by his father, who was both a DJ and a well-known raver since the late '90s. This early exposure to music set the stage for Stevo's lifelong journey through sound.

For the past 18 years, Stevo has been a key figure in the Gozo music scene, organizing and curating events that bring the island’s vibrant electronic music community together. His events have become a staple for local music lovers, reflecting his deep commitment to the scene. Over the last three years, Stevo has taken his love for music to the next level, diving into the world of music production and DJing.

Stevo’s artistic journey has been heavily influenced by iconic figures in the electronic music world. He finds inspiration in the groundbreaking work of Richie Hawtin, whose innovative approach to techno has been a guiding light. Maltese artists like Acidulant and Jewel Kid have also played a significant role in shaping his sound and vision as an artist.

For Stevo, the key to success as a DJ and producer lies in creating original music, embracing new genres, and meticulously curating tracks for his DJ sets. He emphasizes the importance of staying current with the ever-evolving music landscape, which he does by attending electronic music festivals and club nights not only in Malta but across Europe. Additionally, Stevo stays connected to the global music scene by listening to DJ sets online and exploring fresh sounds on platforms like Bandcamp.

Within the local scene, Stevo holds deep respect for talents like Acidulant, Sean Rickett, Aaron, Noog, and Lukbeatz. Their performances continue to inspire him, driving his own artistic growth. To Stevo, the most rewarding aspect of being a DJ is the moment when he can perform a set entirely composed of his own productions. This, he believes, is the ultimate goal for any DJ/producer—a testament to their creative journey and artistic identity.

Stevo's story is one of passion, persistence, and a deep love for music. His journey from a young music enthusiast to a seasoned DJ and producer reflects his unwavering dedication to his craft and his desire to leave a lasting impact on the electronic music scene.
