He called himself a prince, because the world had changed ever since

Her life was pretty damn rough
Through the beatings and the bruises she came out tough
Two young daughters by her side
She promised them a life where they'd never have to hide

Two scientists on a mountain top

searching for a smile? she's the waning moon
but, this lovely girl is leaving soon

Anchor

when he was a little boy
he never really had too many friends
so he picked up a guitar
and played it every day until the sun would bend
steel strings on his fingertips
words pressed against his lips where the girls could have been

he's got a tattoo and he's not afraid to tattoo you, too
just like your birth did
feel his tune make a mountain on your skin
for the words to climb over as they twist and spin
his t-shirt won't fade through the night
you can close your eyes and still see it shine bright
he's so colourful

now he lives in Hollywood
where strangely he visits you every day
in a little metal box in your living room
he plays his songs until well after noon
