Smart Is The New Gangsta

Versatyl & Pilgrim are a hip hop duo from Birmingham with a classic underground sound. They have released two mixtapes since meeting at the UoB Hip Hop Society: Smart Is The New Gangsta in 2013, and Wax N Facts in 2014. They are currently working on a 5 track EP.

Versatyl is the duo's producer and is also adept at weaving complex rhyming patterns over his instrumentation as an MC. He is currently working on an instrumental mixtape to be released in May.

Pilgrim is the duo's lead MC and Bboy and loves combining the two arts to provide an unforgettable performance. He recently performed at the Hippodrome for Breakin’ Convention’s Open Art Surgery and was one of the performers at the opening of new library of Birmingham.
