Yaksta is an upcoming reggae and dancehall artist from Jamaica. His Jamaican roots always shine through in his music, however, in the track ‘Humans,’ Yaksta performs on a hip-hop beat which provides an exciting musical twist for his fans. ‘Humans’ was inspired by the global events that have dominated 2020. Yaksta passionately sings about how humans are destroying the planet and how disease, greed and those in power are killing both the population and the land we live on. At certain parts of the song Yaksta sings from the Earth’s point of view, saying how She weeps at what humans have done. The single’s cover art cleverly portrays this image, as it shows a human in medical gear (and the now common face mask) using a scalpel to carve up the Earth whilst the other planets look on, weeping.
