Version Studio Records is proud to present the self-titled debut album by The Isolation Process.

After having released three full-length albums as the late bands Lingua and Come Sleep, the members have now reformed with a sonic wall of sludge. Influences span from alternative metal acts such as Deftones and mid-nineties sludge acts Crowbar, to the melancholic sounds of Depeche Mode.

The album was produced, recorded and mixed by Michael Nordström (Switch Opens, Lingua, Jesaiah) together with the band, and was mastered by Magnus Lindberg (Cult of Luna, Khoma).

The Isolation Process - Underneath It All

The Swedish duo A Swarm of the Sun will release their third album, "The Rifts", on January 30, 2015. It is a bleak and beautiful journey through the innermost landscapes of the heart and soul. A brooding album about losing hope, dreams falling apart, isolation and final moments of clarity and redemption. Unquestionably, this is the band's darkest and most emotional album to date.

A Swarm of the Sun is Erik Nilsson and Jakob Berglund. "The Rifts" is written and produced by the band, and recorded by Erik Nilsson at Garaget Studio and The Church of Brännkyrka. Drums are performed and recorded by Karl Daniel Lidén (Vaka, The Old Wind) at Studio Gröndahl. The album is mixed and mastered by the acclaimed Magnus Lindberg (Cult of Luna, Refused, Khoma, Pg.lost).

Valley - Tunguska

Previously unreleased track by A Swarm of the Sun. The song is called Deliver Us From Our Dreams and is featured as an official demo of the Birgir Jón Birgisson (Sigur Rós) produced Post-Rock EZX-expansion for EZDrummer 2 drum production tools.

The track was originally intended as a ten-minute instrumental piece for the band's latest album The Rifts, released in January 2015. When Toontrack asked A Swarm of the Sun to make a demo for their new expansion, it seemed like a great opportunity to give new purpose to the song.

The Swedish duo finds their influences in a number of different genres - including post rock, indie rock, assorted electronics and film scores - and slowly builds the emotional entity that is ”Zenith”. Hopefully, the result is an album in a world of tracks; something serious in a world that fears serious; something that demands slow attention.

Kausal makes music where improvisation and small fragments create a somewhat darker, restrained and monotonous pop; music for a city where anonymity easily leads to loneliness.

The debut album In Dead Cities was written during sporadic rehearsals. Longer improvisations lead to multiple pieces that in the end was put together into a full-length album. The album was recorded during one weekend in October at Version Studio and was engineered and mixed by Karl Daniel Lidén (Vaka, Dozer).

Behind each of the six tracks a truly hard and consistent creative labour is found, where the care for the details creates a complex whole. A great deal of the band’s strength can be found in their use of contrast: It is hard and soft, fast and slow, beautiful and flawed. All at the same time.

A Swarm of the Sun has abandoned genre, because it is the shackle of creativity. Instead, the central notions are emotions and concept. So even if A Swarm of the Sun moves behind the curtains of many different genres – and draws influences from both industrial, post rock, sludge, post hardcore and heavier rock – the band never completely enters any single stage.

Come Sleep was created as a valve. A much needed discharge of ideas that did not fit in any of the Stockholm-based Lingua-collective’s other projects. These simplified, dark and heavily meditative ideas proved to be everything but temporary.

In July 2011, after four years of silence, Erik Nilsson (A Swarm of the Sun), Robin Bergh (October Tide) and Niklas Sandin (Katatonia) began recording Aoria’s debut album The Constant. 

During the silent years the band earned a dedicated following through music communities and media. After four years of individual progress with other musical projects, the band has reformed and picked up where it left off - with a vision to create an emotionally earthshaking album of melancholic and powerful soundscapes. 

The album is recorded at Garaget Studio and produced by band member Erik Nilsson. It is mixed at Studio Riddarborgen by Magnus Lindberg (Cult of Luna, Khoma) who, with his uncompromising sound, has intensified what has become The Constant.
