MINI-INTERVIEW

How did you get into DJing?
Everything started when I was like 10 years old and we had some soccer tournaments in the sports-hall in my little village where I raised. They needed someone who plays the music when a goal happens or the last minute begins. So, I had my pen drive always ready and prepared with a folder structure and stuff like that. Later then, when we did some parties, I always brought some self-compiled CD’s, so that we had some good music in a nice order. All in all, I always collected and sorted music, so it just felt natural to step behind the decks. 

What do you want to express with your music?
Always depends on the mood. Since I’m playing many genres, I think it’s important to read the crowd and the ambience to play the right music. But I want it to get emotions out of the people, if its pure ecstasy or get people crying. 

Sync on or off?
I’m an engineer (soon probably ;P), so I always like and use every technological help or innovation. There are moments of fast mixing or where you bring in a song within a break without kicks or beats. So you can not really beatmatch. Those are moments, where sync is useful and makes it better. But beatmatching is a crucial skill as DJ.

Ich denke oft an dich mein Freund und vermisse dich! Wir konnten diesen Track zwar fertigstellen, doch haben leider zu lange gezögert um ihn gemeinsam veröffentlichen zu können. Ich denke es ist auch in deinem Sinne, dass dieser Track nicht einfach auf der Festplatte verstaubt. Rest in peace mein Lieber !!!

What do you do to get into a creative state?
"I start searching for a task, something that challenges me. I start to get creative when I have something to do, when I do something that interests me."

Where do you draw your inspiration from?
"I draw my inspiration from the streets and everything else which makes my life what it is - my friends, my city, my time."

What do you love most about being an artist?
"It's producing, because it is the act of doing something which brings the most fun. And getting people talking, acting, interacting, dancing."

How do you stay focused in a world of constant distraction?
"I am not staying focused. That's why I have a lot of things going on at the same time. I do not necessarily see that as a bad thing. I focus on only one thing, if that needs to get finished."

What is your opinion on success?
"Run for it."

What is your opinion on failure?
"No option."
