TIP Record's DJ/Producer Lucas O'Brien is back with the sequel to his highly acclaimed, chart-topping compilation 'Avant Garden' (2015) which features a selection of tried and tested sonically diverse tracks by some of his favourite artists that he's been playing in his DJ sets worldwide. For this project, Lucas sourced music from what he considers the most cutting edge, pioneering producers on the scene - Hallucinogen, Raja Ram, Ingrained Instincts, Outsiders, Laughing Buddha, Martian Arts, Earthspace, Audio Unit and Everblast - as well as being substantially involved in the production side himself under his various guises: 'SuperModule' (his solo project), 'Mandelbrot' (his project with Celli 'Earthling') and 'Sybarite' his project with Ric Featherstone. The compilation begins with one of Lucas' trademark introductions, once again collaborating with label founder Raja Ram. Designed to tickle the eardrums and get your body moving, Avant Garden II represents the flow of a psychedelic trance dance party by kicking off with a slower and groovier vibe, then building up the pace and intensity steadily as the album progresses... eventually reaching a more night-time style peak, whilst still keeping Lucas' characteristic funky element in the tunes. Towards the end of the album, the music transitions into a more dawn friendly style to land you safely onto a blissful cloud of psychedelia. As was the case with the first Avant Garden, Lucas used the exquisite artwork of TIP favourite visionary artist Brahma Templeman, this time commissioning a painting exclusively for the cover which illustrates a beautiful psychedelic garden. Nothing ever ends in this universe. No information gets lost and nothing can disappear. Everything is just movement transforming into new movement. 

Mr. Hollywood doesn´t even look back, while he is leaving the apocalyptic west. Slowly he drives the sausage Beetle into the east, leaving the sunset and everything behind him. From now on, he is starting his great escape. 

Driving on empty roads while the radio plays sixties music, followed by poems of a lost generation that is questioning life in itself. While the east comes closer Mr. Hollywood feels kind of woozy, not knowing who he is, not knowing if he belongs to the westside or to the eastside.

 Slow Hip Hop beats fade away, while the wind blows mantras into his ear. The transformation has begun. He feels lost and lonesome, he is losing his orientation and then he starts to feel the change. Mr. Hollywood transforms into Mr. Bollywood. Rational knowledge combines itself with eastern philosophy, mathematical formulas turn into musical prayers. 

All knowledge is universal, every perspective is just subjective and everything is an interpretation, forced by a biochemical process inside the small thing that we call our head. We can only infiltrate our own mind, while we share and receive information and knowledge. Teaching and learning are always equal. Knowledge becomes a shared responsibility. 
We never go anywhere. We always stay in the nowhere. We always stay inside ourselves. 

After realizing that, Mr. Bollywood turns his head towards the beauty of the majestic nature that is surrounding him, knowing that his future path will guide him into the wild.

This time, Hekwapi brings you KAZA aka Thanasis Kazanidis, a Greek artist with lots of experience in the music scene (professional darbuka artist) and with a lot of passion to taste and cook new things. After many years of experiences he realised that creating something on his own is what he wants the most. And here we are. The project under the name KaZa is one of these experiments. An artist with a unique perspective on Psytrance music, trying to give a fresh taste by combining styles like Jungle, Forest and Space Night and create his own path to the Psy scene. Vertical (Parvati Records)

Vertical is the internationally established psytrance project of Joonas Lehtinen from Finland. The project saw daylight around 2007 and after few years of working on the sound and sending demos, he caught the interest of Giuseppe from Parvati Records. This was a big turning point in Joonas' life and with the new motivation he started to work on more material for his track repertoire.

Soon after his debut appearance on a Parvati compilation in 2009 he played his first gig outside Finland in Marseille (France) in the new year 2010. With the help of Parvati Records and guest appearances on other Labels he started to get more bookings in many legendary events and to grow a bigger fanbase in the scene.

During the past years he has performed across  Europe, Brazil, Japan, India and USA from club events to big festivals (Boom Festival, Ozora, Hadra, Modem and Soulvision to name just a few).

Vertical music is known for it's wide spectrum of styles and moods, never really staying in  one formula but aiming to push the boundaries of psytrance with his signature sound and new ideas.
