Sheffield's Tommy Vicari Jnr, under his V.I.C.A.R.I. moniker, steps up with some modular house on Robsoul with the Ready for You EP. Another package of floor-splittingly raw house jams to kick any party into gear.
 
 First up, title track Ready For You mixes the carefree vibes of summer terrace sets with a pounding, automated kick drum that's more suited to the warehouse, with its hard-as-titanium bass kick spine creating a pummelling rhythm. Next, Lanzaroni With You sees two worlds collide as dubbed-out synths and metallic adorned beats, jostle with smooth jazzy keys.
 
 On the flip, Chloes brings a grainy but swinging rhythm that slowly oscillates into a sub-fest with pulsing and wobbling basslines, before closer Good Morning Heartache builds on the hip house foundation - vocal chops, skipping beats, and big piano riffs all combine for a head nodding funk workout.

Moving Forward

On the streets of Berlin, it’s easy to spot people who know their electronic music. You’ll see curious partygoers as well as picky listeners whose appreciation isn’t easy to win. Tonight, both crowds are heading to the presentation of Daniel Gardner’s record. A cult album that was revived thanks to a fresh concept and a remaster. By evening, Jonny Knüppel was packed. Among the guests — a flamboyant duo that couldn’t go unnoticed. Some swayed to rhythms that felt like old friends, while others — luckier ones, perhaps — were discovering an entire world for the first time. As they approached the booth, Plate leaned in with a warm smile:

— Daniel, we’re huge fans! And that track in particular, Wasting Time, the way the instruments speak to each other, it is just incredible.
— Thanks, guys. It means a lot to know you’re getting the meaning behind it.
