Emerging from the magnetic allure of Mo:Dem Festival's Swamp stage, https://soundcloud.com/feral_music & https://soundcloud.com/spekkiwebu delivered a live-set experience that firmly planted itself into the collective consciousness. Monument is privileged to share the set that marked their second harmonious collaboration, weaving a sound tapestry that continues to resonate.

Their performance at Mo:Dem Festival 2022 was a testament to techno's evocative power – combining FERAL's ethereal undertones rooted in Rome and Spekki Webu's enchanting rhythms hailing from Delft.

The duo's collaborative magic didn't halt there. By August 2023, they graced the stages of Dekmantel Festival ’23 aan ’t IJ. With Feral's renowned prowess in audio engineering and Spekki Webu's described aptitude as a 'snake charmer' for his intricate selections, they lifted audiences to interstellar heights. Fans are abuzz with excitement for their forthcoming live-set project at Positive Education on the 4th of November.

Beyond their joint ventures, Spekki Webu's skills extend to sound design freelancing, and he is renowned in post-audio production for films. Feral, on the other hand, immerses himself in the heart of Rome, running a studio where he excels as a freelance mastering and mixing engineer for various clients.

Last November, we had the honour of opening the night for some of our long-time Norwegian trance idols. We had put a lot of thought and preparation into the track selection and wanted to share the set, so we decided to replay and record it. Very happy we got to play tracks by some dear friends on one of Europe's best soundsystems. Rising from the shadows comes a 90-minute blend of hang-tough beats for this latest in the Bassiani Podcast series. This one comes by way of Kaytseng, a Taiwanese transplant in the Netherlands who cut her teeth down under while playing Melbourne’s local circuit. Though the Amsterdam relocation’s only two years old, the move’s already budding a promising path for her sinister sound and bringing her into the European techno fold. Think merciless fast-trance, gritty and thrashing sounds that pack a punch with every beat, it’s a measure of brutal craftwork for footloose and die-hard raving, tough and highly physical. Her warpspeed tempos are racking up a following, and her Berghain debut as part of the CRUDE roster’s reared a long-term residency with the Berlin label to boot. Her sets are fun and quick on the draw and this latest one’s not afraid to show it. Kaytseng delivers an hour and a half of pulse-quickening rhythms that ramp up and roll to the hilt for Bassiani Podcast 262, rattling clicks and primeval bass, apocalypse ready techno that’s breathing fresh life into the global scene. The future of sound is fast approaching and this Taiwan selector’s both emergent defender and catalysing force.

Next up in our mix series is our good friend Kasper Marott - a DJ, producer, promoter and label head based in Copenhagen. Kasper is one of the heads behind the record label and event series Axces, as well as the beloved Copenhagen party series Haldisk and Essence, and the iconic Kune Festival. Since his debut in 2014, Kasper has shown his skill to produce ecstatic yet reflective tracks with a clear voice over and over. With his highly refined taste across genres he has also proven to be a unique talent as a DJ – his ear for the percussive elements of music is of a rare kind and his DJ sets sliding easily between moods, tempos and styles.

In this mix, Kasper taps into his techno-infused realms with a 3+ hour journey of uplifting euphoria at its finest. Rolling psychedelia meets ecstatic dubby delights, delivered with the unmistakable touch only Kasper can bring. He expertly masters taking the listeners through highs and lows seamlessly, in a fluid dance between tension and release, as a sonic exploration that balances chaos and control, bliss and introspection.
