A walk through Kelvingrove park during the recent spell of good weather. There were hundreds of people, music, pets, games and the river Kelvin. The walk starts by a children's playground, then travels through a broad lawn of sunbathers and barbecues, goes under a busy road and ends by the river.

In a room in Kelvingrove Gallery, all the multimedia exhibits were on at the same time, a fair bit too loud forthe size of the room. I made a sound walk around them, orienting a mid-side pair to juxtapose bits of sound effects, language and music, aswell as incidental sounds from gallery visitors.

Found an old algo composition on a dusty, disused hard drive. It's made of bits of cello, recordings from the Voyager spacecraft, satellite tracking signals and astronaut radio chatter. The algorithm is a very basic model of planetary orbits, where sounds play whenever the orbits of different planets are aligned.

Very Sharp Knives is the music/performance alias of Ev Buckley, an Irish audionaut who makes music out of built environment databases and suchlike. He can also be found occasionally doing art or sound design, or improvisation with synthesizers.
