Leaving behind them satire, irony and kraut-extravaganza, Astrakhan’s VESPERO created an impressive lyrical work inspired by visions of their homeland. Stylistically, “Droga” (from Italian: herb, spice, fragrant, drug, etc.) marked a distinct shift to the progressive rock area. This is all instrumental eclectic prog-rock with traces of Southern Russia’s ethnic music and jazz-fusion, though the presence of space-kraut-psychedelic elements is still very strong. Whatever you label it, this is an astonishing musical journey through time and space which lovers of modern instrumental rock will enjoy. CD (9 tracks - 73 min.) is housed in a thick rough cardboard folder with silkprinted artwork. Contains the highlights from "Lique Mekwas" (R.A.I.G., 2016) , stuff from “Droga” (R.A.I.G., 2013) and “By the Waters of Tomorrow” (R.A.I.G., 2010), and one yet unpublished composition.

This is the result of a collaboration between Transubstans Records, Russian act VESPERO and German act ZONE SIX. The first three tracks of this record consists of the atmospheric soundscapes of psychedelic space rockers VESPERO; a band that combines playfulness and joy with futuristic heavy rhythms. The great recordings of their works has helped capture their essence; a tight, thick wall of sound, allowing them to give synthesizers the space they need in songs like this. To sum VESPERO up: a great band whose work is very “airy” yet concentrated from time to time. You will be surprised! ZONE SIX is a band built up by members from the more outstanding psychedelic space rock scene in Germany. Some of the keys in the band is Dave Schmidt (ELECTRIC MOON, SULA BASSANA) on the drums and Komet Lulu (ELECTRIC MOON) on bass and effects. Komet Lulu is also the mastermind behind the cover of this record. Combining different members from some of the best bands in Germany today (ELECTRIC MOON, THE PANCAKES, VIBRAVOID), ZONE SIX manages to create an extremely atmospheric sound that will explode deep down in your veins. Their featured track on “The Split Thing” is called “Babapapatantramanta” and provides the same hypnotizing emotions like the HAWKWIND albums of the early 70’s did. Highly recommended! Transubstans Records will release this album on CD and LP in the end of April 2012.

Formed in early 2003 in Astrakhan (Southern Russia), VESPERO went through numerous personnel changes, produced quite a few low budget recordings, and turned into a mainstay of local scene before releasing their official debut album in 2007. They spend most of the time diligently honing their musical craft and inventing their own fantasy world somewhere near the crossroads of psychedelic, space rock, progressive rock, kraut-rock, avant-garde poetry and live theatrical performance. The band's current lineup features: Ivan Fedotov (drums, percussions), Arkady Fedotov (bass, synths, flutes, voice), Alexander Kuzovlev (guitars, electronics), and Alexei Klabukov (synths, keyboards, accordion).
