Where did you record this mix and what did you have in mind while recording it?
"I recorded this mix in my living room, thinking of the past half year we just had. The set feels to me like a mix of tension and relief, like the difficult journey we all just led to finally get to summer."

How would you describe your sound in general?
"Hmm that's always a hard one.. I'd describe my sound as eclectic, sometimes chaotic, always emotional."

What are you looking forward to the most this year?
"Nation of Gondwana ! Can't wait to be djing outside again. And I have been working on my first release that will likely come out this year too."

Ladies and gents, podcast alert by the Parisian favorite kid @Poggio. The intro speaks volume about the entire vibe of these 1h15m56s of tunes : vintage radio transmissions, cyborg gibberish captured on a pirate transistor. Imagine if the Robots from Isaac Asimov’s novel were dancing - but they got hacked by a funk musician. The first half of the mix is on the gentler side of retro-futurism, with joyful synthesizers and the clear intention to have fun. But then, the machines gets angry. “Something is broken, please consult”, says the robot girl. Poggio is positive : robots can’t always be happy.

In the early 90s in the Campania capital (Italy) a new generation was going to form that would inflame the Neapolitan nights, which would bring the city to align itself perfectly with the avant-garde of global electronic music.  

Nobody wanted to stay home and watch TV, everyone wanted to dance to house, garage, progressive, trance and techno rhythms.  Today a small slice of the new generation still follows this flow and it is from there that Massi and Mario aka Discoslutz come out, Neapolitans but citizens of the world, they have no borders and all this can be heard in their sets and productions.

They are an integral part of the Vesuvius Soul Records project as resident of the parties and as producers, in fact they will soon release their first EP for the VSR label. We're really proud of having them four our 15th podcast 💛
