Greg shares how many have lost the art of searching things out and have resorted to technology like Google to try to figure God out.  You can never “google” God but rather you can abide with God.  Instead of allowing corporations to search for you and steal your glory set a time to abide and seek God in his word. In this moment of wisdom found in Proverbs 19:11 “A person’s wisdom yields patience;  it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense.”  Wisdom is God’s proper application of knowledge. God gives us wisdom in order to have patience.  Patience is being able to endure and go through trials without complaining. Offense is something that will happen and many don’t even know that they are offending you.  It’s up to you to either allow the offense to stick to you like Velcro or to overlook it and let it go.

In this moment of wisdom found in Proverbs 25:28 Greg shares about self-control an how the lack of it is described as a city with broken walls.   There is a big difference between walls that were never built and those that once were built and are not broken down.  There is something about the whole visual that just says brokenness, disorder, needing repair, danger, easy to be harmed.  So it is with someone who lacks self-control. Self-control is a fruit of the Spirit of God and when we surrender our life to Jesus Christ, abide with Him, and become His disciple; He gives us a grace to live a life of self-control by His Spirit.

In this moment of wisdom found in Proverbs 24:11-12, Greg shares that when we see danger, when we as believers have eyes to see and know that a person, or people are heading in a direction that leads to their death, when we see they’ll be slaughtered by their adversary if they don’t stop going in that direction and warn them of the coming storm;  If we take an attitude that “they deserve it” or “they should have known better” and continue on in our lives and business, we will not be able to escape the “we knew it and didn’t do anything with what we knew”.  If God has made things known to you, If God has shared with you of impending danger or storm you should be compelled to warn those who are being led to their death. A storm is brewing. How many people would be in your and lack knowledge but what’s worse than lacking knowledge is lacking the wisdom to apply the knowledge that you do know. In this wisdom moment Greg shares regarding sudden destruction and warns us to be careful not to mistake God’s patience for acceptance.  Proverbs 29:11 “Whoever remains stiff-necked after many rebukes will suddenly be destroyed—without remedy.”  They discuss that stiff-neck means lacking the ability to turn a person who is obstinate, haughty and unrepentant by choice.  Some people after hearing many warnings, getting many rebukes, without turning deceive themselves into believing that God is all talk and no action.  They arrogantly declare I have heard it before.  They continue on living, working, eating then one day they have a suddenly.  They experience destruction in their families, with their children, in their jobs and business and some of these sudden destructive tragedies are simply irreversible and they have to live with their consequences. They encourage us to obey God the first time He speaks to us; simply hear and obey.

In this moment of Wisdom found in Proverbs 27:5, “Better is an open rebuke than hidden love.”  Greg shares how so many people assume that others know they love them and are shocked when someone challenges them or expresses to them that they don’t feel they are loved by them.  Many fathers that work hard bringing provision home for their families feel they are loving on their children while at the same time placing little or no effort in pronouncing the words to their children, “I love you.”   Children who crave love from their parents and especially from their father’s, if they feel unloved will go to extremes to get a reaction from their father’s which ends with open rebukes coming from them.  Often times, this leaves the father confused because he doesn’t understand that his children want to know or feel that their father notices them; that they matter and that they are loved by him.

We are called to suffer for doing good and at the same time we are to entrust ourselves to God Who judges justly.  Realize that those who attempt to plan traps for you, will one day be trapped by their own schemes.  Know that it is the Sons of God who are able to entrust themselves and the injustices in life to God while loving and blessing those who committed the injustice against them.

In this wisdom moment found in Proverbs 29:25 Greg shares regarding the fear of man proving to be a snare and that whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.  He continues to share how the fear of man is a trap that the Lord wants us to stay clear from.  This is important to understand for many declare with loud bold voices they do not fear man, but their every decision is based on how their actions or words will be accepted by a man, while never once considering the heart of God and how God will feel about their actions.  The opposite of up is down, right is left and fear of man is the opposite of the fear of God. We can and are called to honor men, but fear God.  When we trust in The Lord (fear The Lord) we will be kept safe!  You can’t just stop fearing man without replacing that fear with the fear of the Lord.  We cannot be double minded.  We must exercise faith and totally trust God being sure and certain that he is able to keep us safe.

This means many Americans will be forced to buy insurance or  pay a fine. We must have people in our lives that challenge us because we must be with people! We will be dull people if we stay isolated. We must hang around with people that God is using to rub us the wrong way because God is using them to rub off the things that we don’t need to be a part of us. When we allow this, we will be a sharp instrument in the hand of God.

This wisdom moment shares the importance of not gloating over the fall of our enemies.

“Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when they stumble, do not let your heart rejoice, or the Lord will see and disapprove and turn his wrath away from them.” Proverbs 24:17-18

We all have enemies. People for whatever reasons in their heart can be against you, and that is something we must be aware of. When we see something bad happen to an enemy, we must be careful of how our heart responds to that!

“If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the Lord will reward you.” Proverbs 25:21-22

Who are we to be angry towards someone? We should never do that! Paul wrote, “Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”

Justice is best left to God. We are called to love people as Jesus did, and God will take care of justice. Justice is basically putting things back into the proper order. We are called by Jesus to love our enemies!

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.” Matthew 5:43-45

It is helpful to realize that at one point in our lives we were all enemies before we came to know Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Seeing that God loved us even while we were enemies gives us the example to do the same. It is a heart matter and when we try to take justice into our own hands that can stop God’s justice from happening in the situation because it was taken out of God’s hands. We have no right to hold anything against anyone. We can choose to walk as Jesus did and love our enemies. We want to hear from you!

Many wicked men and women can never stay in one place. They are always shifting, moving, changing jobs and run whenever they are in the presence of real authority. It’s time to stop acting cowardly in sin and repent. Are you ready to settle down in your life and repent of the sin that has been causing you to flee certain situations? You can repent today and live a righteous life and become as bold as a lion!

In this wisdom moment, we talk about the wisdom of looking at the heart of a person.

“Like a coating of silver dross on earthenware are fervent lips with an evil heart. Enemies disguise themselves with their lips, but in their hearts, they harbor deceit. Though their speech is charming, do not believe them, for seven abominations fill their hearts. Their malice may be concealed by deception, but their wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.” Proverbs 26:23-26

This is telling us that a person can be all pretty on the outside like silver coated pottery but on the inside one can be evil. In life, we must find out what is in a person’s heart to know who they truly are and what they stand for. Like politicians, we must find out what they stand for and what is in their hearts versus just what they are saying. We can look at what they are doing, what their actions are, and we can see who they truly are.

We can tell when someone is not truly walking with God as well. A person may say they are a believer, but you can listen to what they are saying and what their actions are to see if they are truly a follower of Christ because we need to guard our hearts not to be deceived.

When someone is charming, and their words are enticing we can stop listening to their words. Also, if we have been one who has been charming and deceitful, we can repent and turn away from that sin and then repent to the people that we have manipulated. Maybe you don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, He loves you and wants to have a relationship with you! You can repent of your sin and make Jesus the Lord of your life today. “The one who guards a fig tree will eat its fruit, and whoever protects their master will be honored.” Proverbs 27:18

Guarding the fig tree would be comparable to guarding our job and doing things right so that we can eat of the fruit of our labor. Many people do the minimum they have to do at their job and just scrape by. But that is not what God calls us to! We are called to honor our employers and protect them. It is important to empathize with your boss and to realize that they have needs to. We can walk in their shoes and work hard which will bless them. And when we do this and protect our employer, we ourselves will be honored! Be sure to listen to the full segment to hear more.
