The music for the second level of my current project, Black Star’s game "Denizen". I'm focusing on a fusion of electronic instruments and acoustic world instruments in this soundtrack, in order to deliver the feeling of rushing through a world mysteriously overgrown by nature. This game is a skill-based action-platformer, in which the player controls a young man with the power of elemental magic.

"Climate Calamity Zone (Act 1)" is the first of two original pieces based on my ongoing study of music and remix in the Sonic the Hedgehog game series. This piece is intended to accompany a level that takes place during or in the aftermath of a natural disaster.

In the style of Sonic Generations, I will be remixing this piece with a "modern rock" feel in the near future. Stay tuned!

Climate Calamity Zone (Act 1)

At last, take a listen to the long-awaited Act 2 remix of "Climate Calamity Zone"! This version of the piece is meant to emulate the feeling of a "Modern Sonic" stage based on a classic level. I've increased the tempo of this version, but I've doubled the harmonic rhythm so that it grooves in a similar way to the original. I've also introduced different instrumentation with more processing in order to give the track a modern rock edge.

Climate Calamity Zone (Act 2)

The backing track for Recoil Riot's tutorial arena! Learn how to use your weapon's recoil to sail through the air while jamming to this sample-based beat that was inspired by classic turntablism.

Learning To Launch

Now that you've learned how to launch, it's time to hit the battle arena! This heavy, grime-inspired track plays during Recoil Riot matches, where players compete for the top score score in high-flying deathmatches.

This track is a remix of "Stickerbrush Symphony", which was originally composed by David Wise for "Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest" in 1995.

In light of recently stressful world news, I decided to calm myself by covering this game music masterpiece in a chillhop style. While also a play on the track's original title, the name "City Rush Symphony" was inspired by driving past a city skyline at night. Watching the hustle and bustle from a distance while appreciating the serenity of the nighttime colors has always calmed me down, and I hope that listening to this track can do the same for others.

City Rush Symphony (DKC2 "Stickerbrush Symphony" remix)

Written in the loneliness of the COVID-19 quarantine and inspired by "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", this chillhop piece is about the longing for a personal connection with someone truly on my wavelength.
