Smansky, DJ from Łódź City, Poland with his deep techno podcast for Unknown Stories is our next guest. 
For 20 years he has been participating in the club scene in Łódź, now he has decided to vent his passion. Raised on Old School, Jungle, D'n'B and Nocny Tranny, radio and VHS tapes from electronic music programs from Viva, Viva Zwei, MTV. Then he fell in love with electronics like Autechre, Aphex Twin, Vladislav Delay, The Black Dog, Monolake, Plastikman, and Jeff Mills. Currently, he draws inspiration from sets of artists like Donato Dozzy, Neel, Dasha Rush, Takaaki Itoh, Marco Shuttle, when it comes to producers, apart from the previously mentioned ones, there are also Shifted, Mike Parker, Reeko, Abdulla Rashim, although his musical horizons are very wide. He loves techno in the style of hypnotic, deep, mental, broken beats, offbeat, abstract, ambient. He tries to include his love for rhythmics and drums in his sets. He tries not to follow trends, to draw from different trends and epochs of electronic music.

Szczególnym zamiłowaniem obdarza techno w stylu hypnotic, deep, mental, broken beats, offbeat, abstract, ambient. Umiłowanie do rytmiki i perkusji próbuje zawrzeć w swoich setach. Stara nie podążać za trendami, czerpać z różnych nurtów i epok muzyki elektronicznej.

Born in Bogota, Colombia, Aleja Sanchez has been active in the techno scene since 2007. A mental and deep but forceful sound combined with a natural penchant for experimental and diverse soundscapes with raw lines have laid the foundations for her to develop a highly unique musical voice into the International techno circuit. This aesthetic applies to her DJ sets and explains why she has been invited to direct the booths in places like Tresor.Berlin (Germany), Stardust (Spain), Razzmatazz (Spain), Perpetum (Czech Republic), Flex (Austria), Sound Deparment (Italy) among others. As a producer Aleja Sanchez is not only a regular contributor to Nachtstrom Schallplatten and Planet Rhythm but also a fundamental piece of Illegal Alien Records and the label head of Northallsen records. With an experimental hypnotic and fused techno and a gentle and melancholic ambient current she reveals her stylized and unique sound. Deepness, quality and versatility are characteristics of Aleja Sanchez who always strives to create a unique dialogue between the environment, techno and experimental electronics, carefully curated and skillfully organized in an unique and sonorous landscape both in the studio and behind the decks.

Dorian Gray is the reflective persona of Italian producer and DJ, @morenomariotti, an artist whose comprehension of techno music is a far cry from any conventions. Dorian’s musical craftsmanship is influenced by two core aspects – his interest in astronomy, but also esotericism and mythology. His productions formulate refined deep and ambient atmosphere, cleverly connected to his interests beyond music. Spellbinding rhythms, detailed ambient pads, and intervening acidic loops shape Dorian’s signature sound and provide a clear glance at this artist’s inspirational flow and intricate creative process.

His work appeared on labels such as Illegal Alien, The Gods Planet, Edit Select Records, Substrato and his track “The Night Gate” on Avant-Propos Records was described by MixMag as “eerie and mysterious and the spectral voices that fill out the top end give it a supernatural feeling that is both haunting and alluring“.                            

We are more than happy to present Dorian on our platform with a superb podcast that symbolically  features tracks from the digital album United Against COVID-19 – a  compilation of Italian deep/hypnotic techno artists united to give their contribution to healthcare facilities operating against the pandemic.

BIO:

Fabrizio Lapiana is a well-known fixture on the contemporary Italian techno scene. His musical career started in his hometown Rome where he began collecting vinyl and DJ’ing in the early 90’s.

After being mainly active on the local scene, Fabrizio in 2008 started producing and founded his own imprint, the well renowned Attic Music. The label quickly expanded from hosting just Fabrizio’s work into also releasing other artists fitting his personal definition of techno. To date Fabrizio has over two handfuls of releases, Attic Music serves as home to some of these, but also other respected labels such as ARTS, Figure Jams and M_Rec Ltd to mention a few. His productions are often dark and hypnotic, yet at times they have brighter melodious elements, with each of these components smoothly entering as the tracks unfold.

However playing records to a live audience is still his favourite element. Fabrizio has honed and perfected his deejaying skills for over two decades, therefore being famous for his immaculate mixing technique. To create the setting he prefers, his sets travel from deeper to harder techno, darker pieces are introduced to more melodic ones and acid or old school gems get updated with new unheard material – these are some of the key ingredients for Fabrizio while creating an intimate journey for the listener.
