Life went on in the small village of Abodesberie. Thomas found solace in the merry, fulfilling time he had spent with his young wife. Eleonora remained in the hearts of so many, sometimes they believed to witness her presence in the chapel and to hear her voice in the wind.

Chapter 8 - Rememoratio

In the stillness of a winter ́s blue moon the world seemed to pause as Eleonora exhaled her final breath. Standing beside her grave I offered my last blessings, hoping those gathered would derive comfort from my words...

Chapter 7 - Benedictio Finalis

As I stood at her bedside with her heartbroken husband reading her last rites, it appeared as if Eleonora ́ s body struggled to retain her soul. 
Yet her mind accepted that she was no longer within her confined embodiment and her spirit was eager to ascend. Our devoted prayers filled the ambience of her presence as we awaited her last breath...

Chapter 6 - Ascensio

Later that year in autumn as the days grew shorter, I noticed an ailment attaining Eleonora ́s health. Within a few months she grew weak and her complexion became pale and haggard. With each passing breath she took, she felt her strength diminishing. She was fading away, our aid and prayers were in vain...

Chapter 5 - Sanitas Deficiens

In the late summer of the year of our lord 1339, I had the honour to lead Thomas and Eleonora into the holy bond of matrimony. Their love for one another was deeply palpable, each had found their fellow souls intertwining to become one...

Chapter 4 - Foedus Sanctus

Thomas was ever so touched by her voice, being strongly intrigued to whom it belonged, he found his heart leading him towards Eleanora.

Chapter 3 - Animi Coniuncti

Abodesberie, anno Domini milletrecento quadraginta.
Hoc necessitatem scribere sentio, quod factum est tempore meo apud Abodesberie. Narrabo fabulam de puella, quiae voce angelica benedicta.

Abodesberie, in the year of our lord 1340. Oh good lord...500 years?!... 

I feel compelled to write about what has come to pass during my time at Abodesberie.
I shall recount the tale of a young maiden blessed with an angelic voice, a voice I first encountered at St. Catherine ́s ChapelI recall it being in the birth of spring when I noticed Eleanora approaching the chapel. Her humming had gained my attention as she advanced onward. She had been unaware that it was under repair and gained courage to sing amongst the workers...

Chapter 2 - Canticum In Sacello

I was lost. My mind had been preoccupied, thus I had not paid attention to where I had been going. I had presumably ventured too far from the village and the black clouds I saw to the west forecasted unpleasant weather approaching. I continued on the path, hoping to reach shelter, before the storm caught up with me.

Biography 

In the 14th century, Eleanora, a woman from Abbotsbury, England, found solace in her walks to St. Catherine's Chapel. Her melodic voice would gracefully fill the air as she sang her heart out. However, tragedy struck when a severe illness claimed her life, leaving her spirit forever bound to the chapel's halls. 
As the centuries passed, Eleanora's ethereal presence became known to locals who would occasionally hear her hauntingly beautiful voice echoing through the chapel. Legend has it that on every blue moon, Eleanora's spectral song would intensify, hoping to captivate someone's attention and entice them to read her untold story. 


Special moments during the project's creation: 

The creation of this album has been simply fascinating, including not only new and occasional challenging experiences, but also very special. 

One of these was when Gina sang inside St. Catherine's Chapel, the very site of where our story takes place. Not knowing the current circumstances awaiting us, this was spontaneous, without the usual warming up of her voice, and we had only a few solitary minutes, as other visitors were swiftly approaching the chapel. 
The recording of „Vis eterna es“ was undertaken purely out of curiosity; only after hearing the quality did we decide to use this on-site recording instead, thereby giving our audience the chance to hear the authentic acoustics of St. Catherine's Chapel, which are undoubtedly magnificent! 

As the blue moon plays a significant role in Eleonora's story, we were delighted at the discovery of this phenomena occurring within the year of the album's creation. Unbelievable as it may seem, the score was finished at the time of this year's blue moon, in the early hours of the 31st August 2023 - clearly marking a special moment.“
