Viba is a Helsinki-based band that released its debut album (also called 'Viba') in February 2019. Their music has been described by critics as fresh and interesting, difficult to label under any one style or genre. Singer-songwriter Virva Immonen lets all of her musical influences mix in her compositions, in which alternative pop, jazz and progressive rock idioms live naturally in the same universe. Immonen plays around with speech, jazz phrasing and ethereal pop melodies while dealing with human imperfection and life's unpredictable nature in her lyrics.

Keyboardist Toomas Keski-Säntti, bass player Oskari Siirtola and drummer Okko Saastamoinen are established in the Finnish jazz scene, known from groups such as OK:KO and Sointi Jazz Orchestra. Viba's unique sound is created by their playful approach to Immonen's songs, as synthesizers and varied effects are infused into the band's modern and minimalistic expression. Viba also makes room for improvising, especially in live performances, which beautifully completes Immonen's story-oriented mindscape.
