For the 5th vinyl in the series, @andusimion with his ARCTIC CIRCLE EP, takes us on a trip outside the realm of the customary vibes you find on the GFD label.

There's a place somewhere in Eastern Europe called Ploiesti. Even though a terribly industrial city, it's the place you'd least expect for, let's say, Detroit roots to grow. Yet somehow, ANDU SIMION, a Ploiesti native and a son of the Lisiere, manages to craft his personal sound embodying the spirit of the Motor City as a source for his creativity.  

Previous releases on Berlin-based Polen or on Priku's Atipic label have shown just how much Andu's productions have been evolving in the last years, managing to evoke and provoke the emotional and conceptual sense of his own take of the electronic music spectrum. 

Also, we're featuring a remix for the first time and it's coming from London! @brettjacobs  is part of the Yoyaku agency and you might already know his music from records released on labels such as Body Parts or Nima Gorji's NG Trax, among others. 

Brett's trademark approach on "Dreamscope Fourteen", little dark over here, little groovy over there, brings to the EP the kind of deep underground flavor we particularly enjoy for our late mornings, in this part of the world.

London-based producer Harry Wolfman is quickly racking up quality releases with his 'Portal Gun' EP as his latest offering landing on the prolific Toy Tonics imprint. 

Clearly a fan of Rick & Morty, Wolfman's 'Portal Gun' EP features tracks titled 'The Rickest Rick' and 'The Accord'. Here Mixmag premieres the latter, a soulful and funk-infused house ballad that shimmers with fluttering synth chords and a warm bass line.

Berlin-based Gel Abril kicks off his new Closed Circuits label in a full form presenting a strong record by talented Polish artist Oskar Szafraniec, a crafted producer, known by his latest 12’’on Rawax with Ricardo Villalobos, EPs on Murge Recordings, Cyclo or collaborations with Pier Bucci.

For the debut release on Closed Circuits, Oskar has collaborated with the Swedish Very Addictive duo and has delivered his best work to date, a music piece called Borderline. Filled with lush vocals and hypnotic pads that kicks the label with a proper bang. It's a minimalistic house groove track, mesmerized with a slowly evolving vocal that brings the track to the full effect without reaching a peak.

London label Sans Absence been on a roll as of late, putting out stellar releases from the likes of Lemonick and Noire that hone into the dynamic new wave of bass-heavy sounds.

Up next, producer Sylvere returns to the reputable imprint for a five-track outing that explores the shared sonic mutations currently rattling through the London clubs as well as the Parisian underground.

Titled ‘Green Ray’, today we’re premiering EP cut ‘That Feeling’. A clear-cut favourite from us, the trance-infected track is pure euphoric goodness.

Sintope bosses NTFO return to Bondage Music this May to deliver a combination of digital and vinyl
only productions in the form of their ‘Esperantza’ EP.

Following an impressive break through year in 2009, Romanian duo Dani and Robert aka NTFO have since
gone on to carve out an impressive resume within the world of house, with a series of releases on 20/20
Vision, Objektivity, Diynamic and Jargon making up a notable back catalogue. Owners of their own Sintope
imprint, releasing material from themselves alongside the likes of revered Parisian Djebali and fellow
Romanian Rhadow, the duo have garnered stand out support from Ryan Crosson, Cinthie, Vinyl Speed Adjust
and Arapu to name just a few, and having recently featured on the labels ‘Bondage Games’ compilation in
January, here we see the duo deliver a fresh four track EP that’s set to become a favourite of many in the
months ahead.

Title cut ‘Esperantza’ sees the duo go to work, fusing rolling, crisp percussion with rich sub-bass, before
‘Uppercut’ interjects, unveiling a production packed full of swing, reinforced by robust drum licks, skipping hats
and sweeping synths.

On the flip, the first vinyl only cut ‘Lux’ reveals a smooth, stripped back effort, with lush, deep pads floating
effortlessly over hazy background textures, whilst the electro influenced ‘Avoid’ closing things out in fine
fashion, as trickling lead lines flow amongst and intricate organic percussion patterns across seven minutes.

Indie-pop band The Trash Mermaids' new album 'Evil Twin' is out soon and the group have released new single 'Xperiel'.

'Xperiel' is an acid-inflected track loaded with disco joy. Lead singer Scarlett Blu describes it as "a miracle drug that your body produces when you dance." She added: "'Xperiel' is a dance pill, the opium in your soul".

This single follows 'Cryptic Love', which came out in October 2017.

Due to her jumping between genres, Blu has earned the reputation of being a "genre hopper". Israeli DJ and record producer Offer Nissim has described her as "a storyteller who dares to imagine the world as a magical place. She brings her listeners into a dream-like mystical world.”
