There was an Irish band called Cruelle Deville, which fused a Progressive sound with the sound of tradition Irish music and that is what sprang to mind as I was listening to this; I liked that and I liked this, very inventive fusion!

A live recording from around 1983,when Alien were a very popular local band It's from an old cassette tape, so the sound is pretty bad but does improve as it goes along.
 Alien were: Vocals.  Derek Storey ... Guitar. Ronnie Anderson ... Bass. Terry (Tex) Flynn ... Drums. Kenny Mckie (me). Sadly, I am the only surviving member of the band.

The idea for this song came to me randomly while driving down some backroad a few years back, and I recorded the initial idea spur of the moment. For whatever reason, the rather morbid theme came out in the process and I just went with it. Nat is a daring soul and surprisingly encouraged that we record it and with her considerable help we fashioned this recording. Notable is that Nat has taken on the ability to add some beautiful pedal steel guitar throughout the song using her well established keyboard skills and this first run at it was very satisfying.
