Year: 1986
He is a crime-fighter; he is a time-traveler. He rides a motorcycle; he flies a jet. He is Mythical Vigilante.
With a samurai sword at his back and pistol by his side, the gleam of the setting sun of the past and newly-rising sun of the future beams across his helmet; the very device that allows for him to venture through space and time. As he rides, he picks up psychic messages that spread throughout time; cries of the innocent in desperate need of help.

The Past:
Dr. Trevor Harris - Quantum Physicist and childhood-friend, began working for Centurion Industries out of desperation for funds due to debt. Tasked with inventing a mind-reading device, the doctor’s work involved testing brainwaves and ESP abilities. Then one day, he learnt the possibility of time travel being more than just a dream. 
Centurion Industries soon discovered the creation of the helmet and its extended capabilities: a device that could be quite useful for their own dastardly plans. Harris’s lab was ransacked and the scientist himself held hostage; luckily, he had smuggled the device away from the facilities prior. Refusing to reveal its location, Dr. Harris is tortured and confined within the walls of his lab; forced to reproduce a duplicate. 
Harris secretly implants explosives within the Mark II and during a head-executive presentation, destroys the lab and all within it: including himself. Shielded by a steel door, a man in a suit escapes via helicopter before the entire building engulfs in flames.

The Present:
The roads of time are long and never ending. Mythical Vigilante recalls that before news of his friend’s death hit the media, flashes of visions plagued his mind; visions he could not comprehend. All became clear once he saw the headlines on newspapers and TV sets everywhere. The path had been lit and Mythical knew exactly what had to come next: the search for the helmet.

But that’s a whole other story.

"'Tis What 'Tis" is Googie's relentless debut solo album, hitting you with banger after shmanger of Googie's infectious vocal stylings over original beats you can't help but boogie to. Old school rhymes with a splash of intelligence are on full display, inviting you to vibe along with Googie's contagious, upbeat energy. So far out its getting colder, "'Tis what 'Tis" comes fresh on the heels of 2015's acclaimed BALD AFRO collaboration with underground workhorse Lt Headtrip, thrusting Googie to the forefront whether the world is ready or not. 

Hailing from West New York, NJ and currently based out of Queens, Googie is as confident and vibrant as the great city he calls home. Googie has spent years honing his craft in the independent rap scene, both as a solo artist and as a member of New York's loudest collective, the Karma Kids. "'Tis What 'Tis" features a who's-who of underground stalwarts, with features from fellow Karma Kids-- Gruff Lion, Duncecap and Lt Headtrip-- plus NYC staples Premrock and Warren S. Britt. On the beats, Googie enlists his labelmates Headtrip and Samurai Banana (who also supplies the cuts), and gets help from Montana Macks, Fresh Kils, RedDirt the Illusionist, Jeff Markey and two original beats from indie rap legend Blockhead. The end result is 45 minutes of instant classic. 

Stand up, get down and go berserk. If you don't have as much fun listening as Googie had creating, well, "'Tis what 'Tis."
