It was a usual working day at the record store filled with the sounds of cashier bells, door slams, duct tape hugging LP mailers, and regulars chattering over new in on the speakers.

@amirhanani was emptying the return box when a record slipped out of the pile in his hands and fell on the floor. He bent down to pick it up but the record seemed to resist and as if on purpose sneaked out of the sleeve and back on the floor. A crimson red cover, and the label with some crazy art on it..a quick thought ran through Amir’s head: if I were a record, I would probably look like this one. No surprise now he was curious to hear it. He put the record on. Chattering fell silent. The only sounds one could hear was some exceptional music and the record whispering quietly:

– You pretty boy, finally got me spinning..

SI-FI lands first with some gorgeous urban garage vibes, followed swiftly by HATT.D offering an absolutely blissed out deep house cut. Hurlee delivers some driving, hands in the air house business, before Luca Olivotto comes through with pure hands in the air four-four sounds. In at the fifth spot is Guizz providing pounding basslines and synths all underscored with sultry vocal refrains, while Paul Rudder steps things up a notch, supplying a gorgeous, breakbeat infused piano house number. Bress Underground step up with a melancholy and retro tinged stomper of a piece, and DJ LOOKBOOK takes a warehouse-ready '90s house bump, bringing the heat with some re-pitched vocals and rave style synths. Dan T is up next with an exquisite deep house beauty carefully layered with super airy vocal lines, before Sunny Galaxy comes through with a pad heavy tune incorporating a start to finish 80s feel. Finishing off the compilation is Peter LC, bringing things down nicely with a flawless, laid back chunk of deep house.

A couple of weeks back, I had the unique privilege of performing at the Brik space alongside some talented friends. The set was unlike any I've played before; it wasn't about laying down finished tracks, but rather, crafting patterns in real-time from pre-arranged templates. Lucky for us, the entire performance was captured and I can't wait for you all to hear it.

Wenn wir vor den Empfangsgeräten wieder enger zusammenrücken und uns die alljährlichen Wiederholungen von Märchen- oder wahlweise Hollywoodklassikern mit prall gefüllten Plätzchenbäuchen anschauen und uns im Rundfunk wohlbekannten Melodien erwarten, dann kann das Fest der Liebe nicht mehr weit sein. Wir lehnen uns zurück in wohliger Gewissheit, was da kommen mag. The same procedure as every year, we are driving home for christmas with the same troubles like last christmas.
